Today, we start with Jan Nicolas Peters 🚢, who, after eight years as a chief mate on the high seas 🌊, swapped the bridge of a container ship for a desk in Tailwind’s Operations Management last year. Together with his three teammates (all of whom also bring their personal practical shipping expertise to the table), the 35-year-old has been using his expertise in our headquarters in Hamburg 💙. As Senior Operations Manager, Jan Nicolas is tasked with the complex and dynamic planning of the entire voyage of our fleet: from stowage planning and fuel bunkering to synchronizing the arrivals of the feeder ships with the port calls of our Panda Express Service 🐼. Are bunkering barges available when we need them? What about the berths in the respective ports? Will the tide play along so that the ships can pass under the bridges along the way, for example? “We want to constantly optimize our processes,” Jan Nicolas emphasizes, “which is why we always check exactly which adjustments we can make to a voyage next time.” Because at Tailwind, we put our customers first and always aim to deliver your goods on time 🚀. #ShipDifferent #reliable #simple #together #teamtailwind
