#kopitalk on what makes you happy. the answer is it depends. but focus on what makes you happy makes you happy. Some say alignment of meaning and purpose. Some say achievements and growth. Others feel connections and relationships are equally important. Some say inner peace, and some achieve happiness by giving back and paying it forward. Ultimately, it may vary from person to person. What’s most important is finding what resonates with you and leads to a life that feels rich and rewarding. But first, make yourself happy. Nobody thinks they're bad at their jobs. If you think about it, there are two main reasons why: 1) They have never received helpful advice about how they're doing. 2) No one took the time to help them get better. Even a little time spent learning or working with someone who knows more can make a big difference for a team member.

Happy Labor Day! Today, we celebrate the backbone of our nation—the hard-working men and women who power our economy and drive our businesses forward. As we take a well-deserved break, let’s reflect on the true meaning of this day. It's about grit. It's about the determination to show up every day and give your best, no matter the challenges. The people who hustle, innovate, and push the envelope are the ones who make a difference. But remember, it’s not just about working hard—it's about working smart. Seek opportunities to learn, grow, and stretch your capabilities. That's where true success lies. So, while you enjoy the long weekend, think about how you can return on Tuesday with renewed energy and a relentless drive to be better than you were yesterday. Greatness isn't just a goal; it's a habit, built day by day, by each and every one of us. Here's to the dreamers, the doers, and the difference-makers. Happy Labor Day!

Suicide is not an uncommon outcome related to workplaces that do not support those who are different, it just feels that way because it is not talked about. While my employer has actively utilized all of their legal resources to deny defend and delay allegations that our workplaces create barriers that haem those who are differnent the impacts have been: Decreased mental health and productivity (not just for the person harmed - those on the outside who see and do not feel empowered to act also lose productivity). Self harm - often related to needing drugs or alcohol to cope. Emotional collapse. Mental breakdowns and leave. Permanent harm, including suicide that is the most permanent. We have DEIA plans as we realize we create barriers even when not intended - so why do we leverage all of the resources of our organizations against those who are brave enough to make visible what we say we need to change?

March Madness is upon us, and while my heart races with every buzzer-beater, my professional self remains as composed as a referee in a timeout. 🏀💼 As the nation gets swept up in the thrill of brackets and upsets, a thought-provoking article caught my eye: "Does March Madness really have an impact on workplace productivity?" It's a question that echoes through the water cooler conversations and hushed whispers around the office printer. But here's the twist - while the excitement of the game might tempt us to sneak a peek at the live scores, it's the love for our careers that keeps us grounded. Yes, I adore the adrenaline rush of March Madness, but not as much as I cherish the satisfaction of a job well done. So, let's enjoy the games, celebrate the victories, and maybe even shed a tear for the defeats. But when Monday rolls around, you'll find me with my game face on, ready to tackle the workweek with the same fervor I reserve for my favorite team. Because at the end of the day, the true madness lies in balancing our passions with our responsibilities - and that's a game where everyone can come out a winner. 🏆 #MarchMadness #CareerGoals #WorkLifeBalance #ProfessionalGrowth
