Staying active, having fun in the process and trying new things - the 🔑’s to success!! 💪
I’ve had a great couple of days training down at @southernquarter_ in Amesbury. Back to back days firstly of Jiu Jitsu and then CrossFit have broken me and made me feel like I’ve never trained in my life… but I’ve loved every minute of it!
They’re both areas I’ve been meaning to give a go for years now. Finding new forms of exercise and training can help to:
- Motivate you! 🧠 - Trying something new always gives you that sense of anticipation and slight nerves you need to really dial in and give your all. Nothing quite does that like nearly getting your head popped clean off by a black belt in Jiu Jitsu 😂
- Challenge you! 😬 - whilst we need consistency and dedication to see results in anything, there’s a fine balance between consistency and monotony! I’ve been regularly training in a gym for almost 15 years now and I love it…that’s always my base, what I fall back to but I still need to find new ways to challenge myself and to keep things fresh from time to time…whether that be running, swimming, circuits, boxing, jiu jitsu or crossfit.
- Improve you! 💪 - There’s no better way to discover your strengths and weaknesses (mainly weaknesses) by trying something new! Trying different activities will often target areas you may have neglected, whether intentionally or not. I’ve been improving my cardio recently but the last few days have smashed that out the water and my body’s aching in places I didn’t know existed. 😂
On top of all this trying new things will inevitably introduce you to new people, mindsets and ways of life which can also improve you as a person….it can also introduce you to lotus biscoff protein smoothies….enough said 🤤

3moThe competition is against yourself!!! Everybody is on the same boat!! No matter how others perform!!! I discovered CrossFit a year ago and my only regret is that my box didn’t opened sooner!!!! It’s all about the efforts you make for you!!! And after everyone is celebrating the effort!!💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
