How would you answer? Anyone who has experienced great coaching knows the interaction can feel almost magical. Somehow, the coach knows exactly what to say and when to say it. You feel challenged, supported, and confident in your coach’s ability to help you achieve your goals. While great coaching can seem effortless, the reality is many skills, attributes, experiences, and techniques came together to create that coaching magic. Coaching is about creating change. Great coaches produce great outcomes, in part, through what they do with athletes in the gym: teaching movement, identifying errors, cueing corrections, and pushing athletes to improve. These basic components of creating change also are very often missing when you watch a class run by a less competent coach. However, the question of what makes a great coach runs deeper and is more complex than the components above. Great coaches have many different skills and attributes that work in concert to create outcomes beyond the comprehension of the average coach. It is not any single thing they do but rather everything they do. Do you know a great CrossFit coach? Read more here → https://lnkd.in/gVRmjbQv #CrossFit #CrossFitCoach #Coaching

CrossFit workouts include constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity. These movements reflect the best aspects of gymnastics, weightlifting, running, rowing, and more. They are the core movements of life. By employing a constantly varied approach to training, functional movements and intensity lead to dramatic gains in fitness. The community that spontaneously arises when people do CrossFit workouts together is a key component of why CrossFit is so effective. Harnessing the natural camaraderie, competition, and fun that accompanies a shared workout yields an intensity that cannot be matched by other means. Overall, the aim of CrossFit is to forge a broad, general, and inclusive fitness. The program prepares trainees for any physical contingency — not only for the unknown but for the unknowable, too. Our specialty is not specializing.

Every day, police officers, firefighters, and military service members face the unknown and unknowable, risking their lives to protect our communities. Firefighters need to be able to run into burning buildings and pull people out of the flames, police officers need to be able to get out of a squad car swiftly or run quickly and restrain a person under fatigue, and military service members need to be ready for combat at any moment. CrossFit knows the impact the methodology can have on service members. Therefore, affiliate fees are waived for the following types of affiliates: 🪖 Military 🏫 School (primary or secondary) 🎓 University 🚒 Fire Department 👮 Law Enforcement

Do you embrace rest days? In a recent New York Times article, multi-year CrossFit Games athletes Scott Panchik and Arielle Loewen weighed in on the value and importance of rest and recovery. Rest is an essential part of training, allowing the body to recover and repair, so we can continue to adapt and work out consistently, for many years ahead. “‘If you don’t take a rest day,’ Ms. Loewen said, ‘your body will force you to take one.’” Read the full article → https://lnkd.in/eZeGeDpg #CrossFit #Health #Fitness
