Our previous post now also in English for our international connections: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On Wednesday 29 May, colleague Vincent Leclercq gave a presentation on the CSM Energy Wall, at the Conference on Foundation Decarbonization and Re-use, at KIT. It was a very interesting day with great innovations and presentations! Vincent's presentation was about the full-scale pilot in Amstelveen, which is nearing completion. Together with Oskar de Kok of BodemBouw and with Nathan, we look back on a successful experiment in which the #CSM #EnergyWall was brought from theory to practice for the first time! Special thanks to Marco Gerola for helping with the data analysis! Want to know more about the CSM Energy Wall? Click on the picture below. Or send an e-mail to info@cruxbv.nl, we will be happy to inform you further. Thanks to KIVI - Koninklijk Instituut van Ingenieurs and Deep Foundations Institute for the organisation! #CRUX_ShallowGeothermalEnergy #CSMenergyWall #CRUX_Geotechnology #collaboration #energytransition #WKO #innovation

The new EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Net Zero Maritime Energy Solutions (N0MES) has its first cohort of students in situ! The CDT was awarded funding by EPSRC earlier this year and is led by the University of Liverpool in partnership with Liverpool John Moores University. N0MES aims to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of net zero energy issues, fostering the skills necessary to identify, analyse, and implement solutions to engineering and environmental challenges within the maritime energy sector. Under the leadership of Professor John Bridgeman, from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, the Centre is collaborating with regional, national, and international partners to co-develop PhD projects addressing a diverse array of net zero maritime challenges; including renewable energy from maritime sources, the distribution of energy from offshore to onshore, and the environmental impacts of renewable energy generation. In the coming weeks, we will share the themes and topics of the first group of PhD projects. We will also showcase our students and spotlight our academic and industrial supervisors. We are also excited about our official launch event which is taking place in a couple of weeks. The event will bring together all stakeholders! Do follow along to be notified about activities here - net zero in the maritime energy sector - here we come! #netzero #maritimeenergy #maritime #maritimeindustry #maritimeinnovation #N0MESCDT

Emerging technologies like high-temperature thermal energy storage (HT-TES) require tailored regulations, often evolving alongside technology and project development. 🎯 The British Geological Survey research in PUSH-IT focuses on understanding existing regulatory landscapes, if and how this new technology is incorporated in existing regulations and if or where regulation may create barriers for widespread technology deployment. 🤝 By considering stakeholder perspectives and public perception, the project aims to formulate recommendations and best practices for effective regulation. These insights will facilitate legislative adjustments and help speed up HT-TES deployment in Europe. ➡️ Read more about how PUSH-IT seeks to lay the groundwork for sustainable technology implementation and regulatory adaptation: https://lnkd.in/eQZCAVkC Andrés González Quirós Corinna Abesser #Governance #Innovation #Sustainability #EnergyStorage #ATES #BTES #MTES

The H2Med project, Europe's first major hydrogen corridor connecting Portugal and Spain with a subsea pipeline to France, progresses as preliminary engineering and environmental impact studies begin. Enagás , GRTgaz and Teréga in collaboration with OGE, have contracted Wood for route analysis and corridor selection. The offshore pipeline's potential routes from Barcelona to Marseille will be evaluated, considering technical, economic, environmental, and societal aspects. Societal and environmental studies, managed by Tecnoambiente ,FRANCOM and Natural Power, are underway. The €2.5 billion H2Med initiative aims to link the Iberian Peninsula's hydrogen networks with Northwest Europe, supplying affordable, renewable hydrogen by 2030.

EPRI's GET SET initiative "will be providing a framework and guidance about planning and the best way to operate them from a system perspective," says Alberto Del Rosso. Anna Lafoyiannis points out the value of additional research and development of best practices: “Being able to quantify benefits and impacts at a more regional level, or even at a utility level, is helpful because electric conditions and environmental conditions can vary. And an assessment should also include practical considerations, like deployment timelines, permitting considerations, and supply chain, to fully prepare for the future.” https://lnkd.in/g38myUM3?
