🆕 We are excited to share our leadership on a project to develop an energy efficiency and sustainable mobility programme for Isla Mujeres, Cozumel, Holbox and Isla Natividad in Mexico. 🆕 On behalf of our client, Inter-American Development Bank, as part of the Energetically Sustainable Islands Program, MRC Consultants and Transaction Advisers will develop an energy efficiency component that will focus on the sustainable development of the islands and the sustainable mobility component will propose scenarios for the penetration of electric vehicles, focusing on the tourism and goods transportation sectors of the islands. The program will focus on the following areas: ▶ the identification and characterization of the energy flows at the end-use level and the social, gender, economic and environmental aspects ▶ the identification of possible scenarios ▶ the definition of goals and expected benefits, and ▶ the establishment of sectoral subprograms that consider the necessary elements for their implementation, including the preparation of a roadmap for each of the subprograms. In partnership with Gauss Energia and Instituto Tecnológico de Canarias, we are committed to delivering insights and strategies that will shape the future of Mexico´s landscape and create a path to decarbonisation of the islands. Renewable energies offer a diversification opportunity for the agricultural sector.   Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the 4th Canal CEO, "Liderazgo Rural: Legado, Oportunidad y Futuro", held at Cámara de Comercio, Industria y Servicios de Madrid Madrid Business School. Rocío Sicre, Managing Director of EDP Renewables, highlighted renewable energies as allies in developing rural areas by improving infrastructure, creating jobs, revitalising rural economies through taxation, and diversifying income sources for farmers.   The meeting, which featured Manuel Pimentel Siles as the guest speaker, saw the presentation of the former minister's new book "La Venganza del Campo".   Thank you CanalCEO for inviting us to this reflective space to explore rural development opportunities, and many thanks to Rocío for your inspiring vision!   Sustainability is essential. What an exhilarating experience it was to be part of the nationwide initiative, witnessing the transformation of "KONGRES ESG POLSKA MOC BIZNESU" into a vibrant hub championing corporate responsibility towards society, the environment, and the economy! As someone deeply involved in the renewable energy sector, particularly with Projekt Solartechnik, it brought me immense joy to not only hear speakers from the energy sector but also from various other fields. In this dynamic and inclusive setting, a diverse mix of experts from the business world, academia, non-profits, and both overarching and regional governing bodies came together. The goal? To stir up meaningful conversations, encourage the exchange of perspectives, and spark inspiration throughout. My belief back then, just as it is now, is that swapping experiences around Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles is a game-changer. It played a massive role in building a productive, innovative economic landscape and nurturing a robust, ever-evolving society. During this incredible journey, I had the honor of connecting with outstanding individuals who shared a passion for positive change. Aleksandra Stępniak, Public Affairs Manager at #velux Polska, brought a wealth of insights. Robert Zasina, Executive Director for Asset Management at #TAURON, showcased top-notch leadership. Grzegorz Gruca , Vice President of the Board at POLSKA AKCJA HUMANITARNA, brought invaluable perspectives to the table. Being part of this movement felt like witnessing Poland's unlimited potential – a powerhouse ready to shape a future filled with sustainable business practices, societal growth, and clean energy solutions.
