This week, the Center for Art, Research and Alliances (CARA) announced the recipients of the 2024-2026 CARA Fellowship, honoring the transformative work of multidisciplinary artist Napoleon Jones-Henderson and the Valerie J. Maynard Foundation. The CARA Fellowship, now in its second year, is designed to honor mid-career artists and artists' legacies recognized for their profound cultural impact. With unrestricted $75,000 grants and tailored support, this recognition underscores both pioneers, Jones-Henderson and the legacy of Valerie J. Maynard, and their indelible influence on our arts ecosystems and their dedication to centering Black identities.
