Congratulations QuantaMap! Today, the company announced its €1,4m investment round. ➝ Leiden-based quantum startup QuantaMap just announced it raised an early-stage investment round, to produce quality assurance tech for the production of quantum computer chips. Like TNW just wrote while covering the news: 'The quantum revolution will not happen unless an entire ecosystem comes together, each part reaching the highest potential of its own expertise. And plenty of that development is happening in the Netherlands.' QuantaMap aims to become the backbone of chip R&D and quality assurance in our industry; the standard for ensuring that every qubit on every chip performs optimally. “Imagine if every quantum researcher and manufacturer had a finely tuned compass to navigate the uncharted quantum landscape of their chips; that's what we are creating,” said QuantaMap CEO, Johannes Jobst. QDNL Participations led the funding round which, combined with our grant for SMEs, will be used to further develop the technology and scale production capabilities as the startup prepares to go to market. 🗞️ Read all the details in the press release on the QDNL Participations website, or on TNW, Silicon Canals, Emerce. Congratulations to the entire team! 🎉 💡 QDNL Participations will invest €15 million into early-stage Dutch quantum computing startups in the coming years. The QDNL Participations fund provides the bridge between the grant-giving phase of research and the 'patient capital' phase of venture investment. 💡 Our SME programme is a collaborative effort of Quantum Delta NL, Nano4Society and MinacNed, which aims to connect 125 high-tech Dutch SME companies to enhance the added value of SMEs in quantum technology. Over the next seven years, a total of 35 million euros will be available for this purpose. #quantum #deeptech #QDNL #QDNLparticipations Infinity QD Leiden Institute of Physics

Diamond chips in diamond hands 💎 Our most recent investment at Asterion is DIAMFAB, a deeptech startup pioneering synthetic diamond technology for the semiconductor industry. Born in the "Alpes Valley", the company is a spinout of CNRS where Gauthier Chicot and Khaled Driche received their PhDs in nanoelectronics and were recognized researchers in the field of semiconducting diamond. Their third co-founder Ivan Llaurado used to lead a division at Schneider Electric. Because diamond is naturally more resistant to high temperatures and more energy-efficient, Diamfab envisions a future in which synthetic diamond will replace silicon carbide as the main component of semi-conductors. Their long-term goal is to make more efficient semiconductors with a much lower carbon footprint. At Asterion Ventures, we are dedicated to supporting the most ambitious teams with carefully curated groups of angels - 50 entrepreneurs and C-Levels invested alongside us in Diamfab -. We are leading this investment together with French Tech Seed Fund by Bpifrance, KREAXI, Better Angle, Hello Tomorrow and Grenoble-Alpes Métropole. The future is bright for Diamfab.

📣 We’re incredibly proud to announce we’re leading the latest €8m investment round in QphoX! 🚀 QphoX is building the world's first Quantum Modem device, as a critical step towards scaling quantum computers and establishing a quantum internet, connecting quantum computers across the globe. How? ➝ The Quantum Modem device is the core hardware required to allow quantum computers to communicate over an optical network. ➝ QphoX will thereby enable the scalability of large quantum computing systems within a data center, and ultimately form the backbone of the future quantum internet. 💰This €8m round is the largest investment in a quantum company in the Netherlands to date. We’re investing alongside the EIC Fund, and existing investors Quantonation, Speedinvest, HTGF | High-Tech Gründerfonds, and Delft Enterprises B.V. Like TNW just wrote: "The Netherlands may be a small country, but its growing quantum ecosystem is emerging as a leader in specialised quantum technologies. (...) Its €15mn QDNL Participations fund has already invested in other technology-leading quantum startups, including QuantaMap, QuantWare, Fermioniq, and Q-bird." ➝ More on QphoX’s exceptional team and technology: QphoX's core technology centers on the ability to build devices that enable quantum transduction, where (quantum) information can be translated between the microwave and optical domains. The company has made a number of breakthroughs in its technology recently. 🗞️ In October 2023, QphoX shared its demonstration of optical-frequency readout of superconducting qubits and published peer-reviewed details of its world-leading transducer performance in Nature Nanotechnology. It established the company as a leader in the emerging field of quantum transduction. 🎤 Chad Rigetti, our Venture Partner, who will also join the company’s advisory board, underlined that point by saying: “Quantum transduction, and the ability to interconnect modular quantum computers over an optical network, is a breakthrough capability that could shift how we think of building large scale quantum computers and the quantum internet. QphoX is the clear leader in this category. We’re thrilled to back them in their mission to build a leading global quantum hardware company.” Indeed we are thrilled! Read more in the article published on TNW! https://lnkd.in/e-BxBpKx 🎈 Congratulations Simon Groeblacher, Robert Stockill and the entire QphoX team! ----------------------------------------------------- 💡Backed by Quantum, our fund will invest €15 million into early-stage Dutch quantum computing startups in the coming years. ----------------------------------------------------- #quantum #quantumcomputing #QDNL #deeptech #VC Shree Infotech towards infiniy

Dresden-based #SEMRON Raises €7.3M Seed Funding. SEMRON creates potent, energy-efficient computer chips that improve AI functionality in small, smart #gadgets. The company’s novel method to chip design makes use of three-dimensional space, enabling previously #unheard-of efficiency gains. Current processors have issues with size, cost, and energy #consumption, which makes them less #appropriate for AI models in the future on smaller smart devices. Alternative strategies ignore the #requirement for cost reductions, memory density to prevent the size of AI models from exploding, or the inability to run several classes of AI algorithms in favor of #concentrating on a particular #technical aspect like energy efficiency. Lead the current funding round, Join Capital had participation from new investors SquareOne, OTB Ventures, Hermann Hauser (Onsight Ventures), and Pre-Seed investors Dr. Wolfram Drescher (BlueWonder), Andreas Werner and Sven Sieber (Gigahertz Ventures), and Hans Rohrer, the former president of TSMC who oversaw the company’s European operations, continued to support the round. With the additional funding, SEMRON will #accelerate the development of hardware and compilers, staff growth, and #internationalization. By year’s end, the #corporation wants to triple its staff. SEMRON goal is to develop artificial intelligence chips with the #smallest possible footprint without sacrificing #processing power. They require a very high compute density for this.
