Grant $$ available to Maryland Small Business Owners! Through $10 million in small business and community development grants, the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development plans to target investments to activate vacant spaces in business corridors and support small businesses with start up or expansion funds while creating jobs and increasing local economic activity. There are two paths that the grant funding can be accessed: economic development entities can apply for Project Restore 2.0, which will incentivize commercial investment in downtowns, Main Streets and other business districts by providing funding for entities to subgrant to businesses. Or eligible new and expanding small businesses in designated Sustainable Communities can apply for funding directly through Business Boost. https://lnkd.in/e-AYvsMX

HR Coordinator at City of Newport News | Virginia Licensed Real Estate Professional | Serving Hampton Roads
Facing eviction is incredibly stressful, but there are resources that may help guide you through this challenging time. While I may not be able to walk through every step with you, I want to share some information that could provide support and relief. If you or someone you know is navigating eviction, here are a few resources to explore: 🏠 Rental Assistance: Programs like United Way, Salvation Army, and Catholic Charities may offer help with rental payments during tough times. 📞 Legal Assistance: Reach out to your local Legal Aid Society or visit LawHelp.org for low-cost or free legal help to better understand your rights as a tenant. 🏘️ Housing Options: You may find legitimate private owners on Facebook Marketplace. It’s also worth calling local apartment complexes to inquire if they have a “Second Chance Policy” for renters. Fox Hill Apartments in the Fox Hill area of Hampton is known for offering a second chance to renters. 🌐 Emergency Shelters & Transitional Housing: ShelterListings.org provides a list of local shelters and transitional housing if immediate assistance is needed. 🛠️ Housing Counselors: The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) offers certified housing counselors who can guide you on budgeting, housing options, and more. Find one near you at HUD.gov. No one should have to face these challenges alone. I hope these resources can help point you in the right direction. Please feel free to share this information with anyone who may need it. #CompassionInRealEstate #EvictionResources #SecondChanceHousing #CommunitySupport

Everyone wants to live in a safe and vibrant neighborhood. Yet, too many neighborhoods have deteriorated to the point where neither of these baseline conditions are present. I'd like to live in a Chicago where every neighborhood has basic amenities that are walkable, where there are a variety of housing options with various price points, and where there is a virtuous cycle of business development. I don't think there is any debate on the statement above. However, reasonable people can disagree on how we get from where we are now to where we want to be. Article below, represents the thinking coming out of North Philly: 1. Support for Non-profit Acquisition of Real Estate 2. Support for Residential & Commercial Tenants 3. Support at the Intersection of Local Residents and Legacy Businesses I welcome a healthy debate on what to build and how to finance it. Please weigh in :)

Vice Chair - Largo Planning Board & Boomer Products - Project, Reporting & Data Manager - Views are my own Political Advertisement Approved By and For Matt Faustini For Largo City Commission Seat 2
Articulating the 'why' behind any #candidacy is paramount. The City of #Largo #invested in me, my family, and our #neighborhood, catalyzing transformative #change. As a #lifelong #resident, I've experienced firsthand the impact of proactive community policies, particularly in #housing, #childcare and #communityengagement. My journey in Largo began at one year old, when my #family settled in the back unit of a #duplex in a challenged neighborhood. In 1996, pivotal changes occurred with the establishment of the Lake Palms #Outreach Center, a collaborative effort by the City of Largo #Recreation Department, the Largo #Police Department, and the #Juvenile #Welfare Board. This initiative provided #free #yearround services for youth under 18, offering a #safespace for #community-building, #games, #activities, #sports, #tutoring, field trips and #meals. Simultaneously, #communitypolicing initiatives fostered #trust and connection between law enforcement and residents. These efforts #revitalized our neighborhood, prompting residents to transition from #renters to #homeowners, including my own family. Inspired by dedicated #teachers, familial support, and by Largo's Outreach program, I overcame #academic #challenges to excel academically, culminating in recognition and awards by fifth grade. However, personal losses, including the passing of my grandmother and father and the impact of national tragedies like 9/11 all in 2001, underscored the #resilience and #compassion within our #community, which was #underscored to me by the #actions of those at Lake Palms Outreach Center. Despite adversities like #natural #disasters, such as #Hurricane Francis in 2004, I persevered academically, graduating with honors from Osceola High School and becoming the #first in my family to attend #university. Yet, the escalating #cost of #homeownership in Largo underscores the urgent need for #inclusive #policies that ensure #affordability and #opportunity for all residents. Today, I'm compelled to run for Largo City Commission to #uphold our community's #legacy of #inclusivity and #opportunity. While I can't recreate my #youth, I'm #committed to fostering a Largo that prioritizes #equity, #affordability, and the realization of every resident's #potential, regardless of their #background or #circumstances.
