In this video, we unveil the heart of CBPS Collective and what we stand for. When we think about addressing violence within our communities, our minds often turn to law enforcement. But here's the truth: You can't have public safety without the public. To truly make a difference, we must work with those within the community. At its core, CBPS Collective is about investing in black and brown leadership in communities impacted by violence across the country. These leaders have long been under-resourced and deserve our support. Our dedicated team members discuss our mediation process and guide individuals in creating a culture of peace within neighborhoods. We actively seek out organizations in need and provide the funding they require. We're here to do the work, to help people save lives, and to empower leaders within the community. Public safety, to us, means fostering a presence of well-being to support victims and survivors. With the funding we provide, communities can hire new talent, build infrastructure, and scale their programs. Join us as we share stories and insights that showcase our commitment to building capacity and strengthening communities. https://lnkd.in/gfZejqKv #grants #publicsafety #publichealth #communityempowerment #violenceprevention #surviorseries #supprot #cvi #nonprofit #nonprofitorganization #community

ICMYI: I had the amazing opportunity to interview Renee Bebee, the executive director of Crossfire Ministries, for my podcast "Beyond the Dais." Crossfire Ministries has been serving the El Paso County, Colorado area for 32 years, providing essential services to families in need. Here are some of the key takeaways from the insightful conversation: 1. **Community Impact**: Crossfire Ministries provides no-cost groceries, clothing, personal hygiene items, and utility assistance to families in need, serving approximately 450 families a day, with no zip code restrictions. 2. **Partnerships and Collaboration**: Through key partnerships with organizations such as Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado, Mercy's Gate, The Salvation Army, Catholic Charities of Central Colorado, and others, Crossfire Ministries maximizes its impact and ensures that families are connected with the resources they need, including support for rent and utilities. 3. **Volunteer Opportunities**: The organization relies on volunteers to support its operations, with a constant need for 50 to 60 volunteers daily. Whether it's volunteering, holding food drives, or making financial contributions, there are numerous ways for the community to get involved.
