Winners Announcement! You can now check the results of the 'Lignano Pinewood - An Eco-Hotel immersed in the Forest' architectural competition promoted by TerraViva! Really honored for making part of the jury panel and to get to know more about all the astonishing projects presented! The task to revitalize a degraded area in Lignano was not an easy one but in general, the presented projects revealed a high consideration for the natural presence of Lignano Pinewood forest while trying to adapt the new architecture to the existing built context. Congratulations to all the participants! In a fast-growing and challenging world, we, as architects, must pay an increased consideration for the constructed and try to anticipate and minimize the consequences of all our interventions. Every new design we envision will produce an impact in the constructed planet. While the vast majority of the materials are still being extracted from finite natural resources and while the conventional construction methods keep generating a high carbon foot-print, we must take particular attention to the sustainable duty of today's architecture. We're excited to shed light on That Pink Thing, a captivating installation that goes beyond the surface of urban landscapes. 💡 Aimed to transform the perception of plazas and shift their purpose from mere transit spaces to vibrant cultural hubs. 🏛️✨ That Pink Thing was created by Mexican artist Jeronimo Hagerman, in collaboration with architects María Langarita and Víctor Navarro. Together, they have embarked on a research project called Busto y Pellejo, challenging pre-established notions about public space and proposing innovative design alternatives for cities. 🌇🎨 One of the key objectives of That Pink Thing is to create an oasis where cultural activities can thrive, offering an escape from the urban hustle and bustle.
