You all remember our efforts to develop a sound method for determining the economic (= monetary) value of service #ecosystems and #dataspaces (such as those put forward by #GaiaX) recently. Well, we have now complemented the theoretic model with a practical framework which enables any organization to identify and calculate the business value of their use cases within a (actually, any) ecosystem. In order to validate our internal thinking with the external world and its practical requirements and constraints -- that is, with you as potential users of the model -- I am conducting a concise in-person workshop in the course of the EuProGigant Open House Day in Vienna, October 7th, 2024. We also have plans to publish this properly - right now, your fastest and best way to obtain the framework are through a Gaia-X Association for Data and Cloud (AISBL) membership :) As a matter of fact, I have already used the model to specifically and only determine the benefits of using #GaiaX for your ecosystem instead of doing it in another (e.g., point-to-point) way. That is, we did not include any other (real) benefit of sharing data or exchanging services but only focused on those parts of the benefits which were specifically mediated and brought about by using Gaia-X standards. My friends and colleagues from the #iECO Gaia-X project will certainly remember this from our Dresden meeting. Dawex is pleased to welcome and host the European edition of the International Open Forum on Data Society from Feb. 12-14, in Paris, co-organized by Japanese Data Society Alliance, Dawex and IEEE SA P3800 WG, bringing together key stakeholders from Japan and Europe engaged in the development of trusted, compliant and interoperable data exchanges and data spaces. Under the general theme of "Towards Interoperability within and across Data Spaces" senior representatives from more than 60 public and private organizations in Japan and Europe will present, share, and discuss their experiences and progress on topics such as #dataspaces, #dataintermediaries, #dataregulations, #standardization, #interoperability, and #trustframeworks. A significant emphasis will be put on practical use cases involving corporations and consortia that operate #DataExchange ecosystems and data spaces within and across various industries, including #airport, #manufacturing, #space and #media. Presenting organizations include: - Institutions and governmental agencies, including the European Commission, IPA in Japan and the Digital Agency, Government of Japan - Research and academia, such as The University of Tokyo, Renmin University of China and the CEA Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives - Associations such as @DSA Japan Data Society Alliance, Gaia-X Association for Data and Cloud (AISBL), AID - Association pour l’Intermédiation de Données, International Data Spaces Association (IDSA) and FIWARE - Private sector companies such as NEC Corporation, Fujitsu, NTT DATA, Japan Data Exchange, Hub One DataTrust - Groupe ADP, AFP - Agence France-Presse and Dawex - Data Exchange Technology. 📖 EuProGigant was prominently featured in the third edition of the Gaia-X Magazine! In light of the upcoming fourth edition of the Gaia-X Magazine, we want to show the great coverage of our ecosystem surrounding EuProGigant in the last version. 🏭 Implementing Gaia-X in the manufacturing industry The magazine outlined the origination of the EuProGigant project to keep the European manufacturing industry competitive. As a result, four more research projects were initiated which tackled different related challenges such as making supply chains more resistant, developing data-driven business models or establishing balanced edge cloud environments. This led to the creation of the ecosystem surrounding EuProGigant. 🤖 Deep-dive into data enhancement and future developments Data is full of opportunities for companies. Our ecosystem allows production companies to make the best use of their data by implementing Gaia-X principles.
