The Leeds SurgTech24 meeting was a great forum showing the amazing regional (and national) support for innovation that has been built - some examples below. It's taken a while to digest so much information, but some thoughts below. This is the type of event that really works to bring people together and it was great to see some of the developments emerging. Several speakers said words to the effect of “I’m not a fan of TRLs” for Medtech as they showed a chart based on…. TRLs (Technology readiness levels). It’s well known that TRL does not really fit the medtech roadmap stages. Speakers showed their own funnel-type processes, all slightly different. Maybe now UK MedTech environment can form a consensus to create a suitable replacement for “TRL”, to use within medical or surgical technologies?  We’d still need the TRL system for situations where medical technology is being compared to other developments (eg for InnovateUK Smart awards), but a consistent language within MedTech will help. Our results in this country have been exceptional: our business growth rate increases by 5% each month, and we continuously surpass our previous revenue records. In April, a knew partnership with Asunción Klinika expanded our reach in Northern Spain. We also began working with HCB Hospitales in the Valencian Community and we will soon have the kick-off of the operation at Centro Médico Enova in Toledo.
