DBR is proud to work with PGAL and Howard Hughes Holdings Inc. on the new Library and Community Center in the Grogan’s Mill Village Center of The Woodlands, Texas. DBR is providing MEP engineering design services and security and technology design. Construction began this week and the new village center is expected to be completed by summer 2025. BICSI participates in the development of industry standards and best practices, providing education, training, accreditation, and certification programs, as well as providing BICSI’s membership notification of changes within applicable standards that may affect them. Standard practices have developed over the last 20 years for designing and installing network cabling for voice and data communications. Designers have come to understand the basic space requirements for Telecommunication Rooms (MDF or IDF) which are needed to house racks of networking equipment. However, a growing number of buildings across the country are implementing a new design strategy. Class 4 Fault Managed Power Systems (FMPS) allow a single telecommunication room to serve an entire building. Imagine that. All IDF rooms in every wing of your building, on every floor, can go away.
