What an inspiration Fleurs de Villes was! The exhibition was a stunning reminder of the incredible power of creativity. Walking through the displays, I was captivated by the imaginative use of flowers to create something both beautiful and unexpected. Each floral masterpiece told a unique story, capturing the essence of nature in a way that deeply resonated with my own passion for art, design, and creativity. As an artist, I’m always searching for fresh ways to express creativity and infuse colour into the world. Seeing how the floral artists at Fleurs de Villes pushed the boundaries of traditional design was incredibly inspiring. It mirrored how I approach my own work—whether through bold colours or innovative designs, I strive to create art that surprises and delights, much like the floral couture on display. The exhibition wasn’t just a feast for the eyes; it was a powerful reminder of the limitless possibilities that creativity offers. It reaffirmed my belief that art, in any form, has the ability to transform and elevate the everyday. For me, that’s the essence of being an artist—drawing inspiration from the world around me and turning it into something vibrant and memorable. J'EVAR introduces a new language of diamond solitaires, where each initial is born from a single, symmetrically hand-cut diamond to maximize light refraction and reflection, each diamond sparkles uniquely, celebrating individuality. The project headed was spearheaded by Ritesh Shah, the Creative Diamond Designer at ALTR Created Diamonds. Over 30 months of meticulous design engineering and 80+ hours of hand-cutting and polishing per diamond letter have gone into bringing TYPE to life. The TYPE Jewelry setting, designed by Heath Wagoner is inspired by NYC's iconic Art Deco architecture. The diamond letter pendant design allows light to play dynamically within the diamond, echoing the distinctive apostrophe in J'EVAR's iconic logo. Each TYPE Diamond Letter is SCS-007 Certified Sustainability Rated, grown using 100% renewable energy (Solar) resulting in a net-zero carbon footprint. Timeless Design: The Tulip Rings While revisiting some of my past projects, I came across the Tulip Rings from 2016—and it reminded me why timeless design matters. Inspired by the effortless elegance of Danish design, the Tulip Ring reflects a philosophy of subtle beauty and minimalism. Its soft, tendril-like bands gently surround the finger, mirroring natural curves, while it echoes the layered grace of petals. In high-polished 925 silver or 18k gold, it catches the light with quiet brilliance, embodying the “less is more” approach. Even today, this design feels just as relevant and modern as it did when it was created. It’s a testament to how thoughtful design can transcend time, blending natural inspiration with enduring aesthetics. This rediscovery made me reflect on the power of timeless design—not just in jewelry but in all creative fields. New Year, New Collection: Marcel Wanders unveils an exciting collaboration with Fischbacher 1819, the globally acclaimed Swiss brand specialising in furnishing fabrics, carpets, and wallcoverings. The capsule textile collection, Ancient Memories, is a journey through time, exploring the archaeology of fabrics. In his dialogue with Fischbacher 1819, Marcel Wanders delves into how design can transcend surface-level beauty to evoke more profound emotions. Materials become more than decorative—they hold a patina and a depth that narrates the passage of time, giving them an emotional and visual dimension. In this pursuit, Ancient Memories was created in close collaboration with the narrative textile artist Caterina Roppo, celebrated for her ability to infuse stories and memories into the fibres she works with. Caterina helped shape a collection that goes beyond decoration: each weave is a vessel of memory, each thread a bridge connecting past and present, intertwining histories and cultures into one evocative narrative. A lot of my designs include Indian elements in a modern and contemporary art form. It took me around 2-3 years to develop my style, and I would still say it’s in the nascent stages, and there is much room for growth.
