𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝟐.𝟎 As an advocate for gender equality and women's empowerment (SDG 5). I'm on a mission to foster inclusion and promote gender diversity in the technology industry through my NGO, Technology Advocacy Initiatives Our ambitious goal is to directly impact 1,000 females by the end of 2024 through Technology Awareness Outreach programs targeting schools, communities, and religious organizations. So far, we have positively influenced 100 young lives, but there's more work to be done. Our mission is to empower women and girls to succeed in tech careers by removing barriers, providing crucial skills and knowledge, and building a supportive community. Our vision is to create a future where women and girls are equally represented and have equal opportunities in the tech industry. This month, on the 26th and 27th, we're conducting Technology Awareness and training to teach students at St. Anne Secondary School in Ibadan, Nigeria how to use computers for tests and exams. It is not just about inclusion and diversity. Encouraging transwomen to pursue STEM fields and careers as scientists is important not only for promoting diversity and inclusion but also for improving the social and economic well-being of trans communities. By providing opportunities for transwomen to excel in STEM, we empower them to access higher-paying and more stable careers, thereby enhancing their financial security and economic independence. This, in turn, contributes to the broader goal of reducing inequalities and fostering a more equitable society where all individuals, regardless of gender identity, can thrive and contribute meaningfully to scientific advancements and economic progress.

Great insight from Carolyn Hicks. As the female co-founder, COO, and CFO of #BrillPower, even she struggles to maintain a #GenderBalance in her company. She believes there are two main causes: there isn't enough #FemaleRepresentation in this male-dominated field and women are less likely to apply for a job if they don't meet all of the requirements. 🌟Empowering girls and women in STEAM: Best Practices Identified🌟 We are excited to share STREAM IT new report "𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀". Developed by Institute Mihajlo Pupin (IMP) this report highlights exemplary projects and initiatives aimed at empowering girls and women to pursue opportunities in STEAM fields across various levels-city, national, regional, European, and even global! 🔍What’s inside? This comprehensive document is the result of a meticulous three-part process: 1️⃣ 𝗠𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴: Identifying relevant projects and initiatives that champion gender equity in STEAM. 2️⃣𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: Conducting interviews with industry experts to understand the impact and effectiveness of these initiatives. 3️⃣𝗘𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Selecting and evaluating the best practices from the mapped projects to showcase their success. Through this structured methodology, we conducted a thorough analysis that led to the identification of 𝟮𝟭 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀: city/province level (3), national level (7), regional level (2), European level (8) and on a global scale (1). These practices serve as powerful examples of how collaboration and innovation can break barriers and create pathways for women and girls in STEAM.
