I had the privilege of joining fellow colleagues at the Mind the Tech London conference for a panel discussion on "𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞: 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐑𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐝𝐥𝐲 𝐄𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐫𝐚." The conversation was both enlightening and encouraging, offering valuable perspectives on the current state and future of tech investments and the way that both startups and investors are adapting to the challenges of decreased availability of venture capital, interest rate and macro economic conditions.  The resilience of the Israeli tech sector stood out once again! With multiple mentions of the quality of entrepreneurs that continue to be recognised worldwide and an appreciation for the maturation of the Israeli tech with more companies aiming to grow big and lead globally. The challenges are real, but so are the opportunities. I'm confident that with the right support and strategies, Israeli tech will continue to thrive on the world stage. Despite the war and a global decline in tech funding, Israel’s tech sector raised $7.8 billion across 577 rounds, a slight decrease from the $8.2 billion raised during the same period last year. The average investment amount was $21M, the highest since 2021, and the median amount $8.5M- an all-time high. Leading sectors were health tech & life sciences with 123 rounds. This is excellent news for Israel’s innovation economy and particularly for the medtech landscape.
