Here are four reasons why emerging technology companies will not look to commissioned salespeople to drive their business. 1. Relationships Growing a business is about fostering trust and relationships, not pushing product. The goal is to show the value of the product and build a relationship with the customer. The only thing that matters is the customer’s success. 2. People dig genuine advice and sniff out agendas. Nobody wants to be sold something that doesn't fit. This is the inside of a mature tree that has been struck by lightning and it has exposed its vascular system which carries water and minerals from the roots to the leaves and photosynthesized food back down to the rest of the tree. As trees have no muscles or nervous system, the movement is generated by turgor pressure which is controlled by stomata in the leaves that open and close as needed. Looking at the trunk of a tree from the outside, you'd never think this was going on under the surface - beautifully complex and simple all at the same time.
