At DELPRO, our values are the foundation of everything we do. All our employees know our vision, mission, and values and put them into practice every day. Although our values have always been an integral part of our culture, we are now working on officially writing them down. This adds an extra layer to both the onboarding of new employees and our daily work, where we hold each other accountable. "I often say that we find our values everywhere at DELPRO – they are in the curtains and in everything we do. This has always worked well for us, but as DELPRO grows, it has become important to put them in writing," says CEO Jacob Rath. Recently, the extended leadership team participated in a seminar to ensure that our vision, mission, and values are clearly defined, so there is no doubt about how we live by them. The executive team has formulated the values, and department leaders have contributed to defining what these values mean in practice and how they can be seen in all departments at DELPRO, both now and in the future.

Day 0 of the Ascend Leadership national convention in Las Vegas, meaning the official event doesn’t begin until tomorrow, but the chapter leadership teams are all here early. I’ve started my day with a stop at Zippys Inc, the famed and ubiquitous Hawaiian chain. Normally I’d have a loco moco but it’s breakfast time so I’m opting for malasadas. If you have any connection to Hawaii, and you’re attending the convention, consider stopping at Zippys’s for a quick snack and to reminisce about Hawaiian life. It’s also a good reminder that the reason why we expect things to be made or delivered quickly is because people are incentivize to do it quickly. Zippy’s moves slow because it should and because we shouldn’t expect everything to be within 10 seconds of our arrival. More companies should learn from the Hawaiian culture. #ascend #ascendmidwest #ascendleadership #asian #asianamerican #asianamericans #aapi #panasian #ascendcon24 #zippys #hawaii #malasadas

How to increase this metric, and thereby increase engagement and outcomes? Over 1,700 CEOs give credit to Positive Intelligence for creating trust and peak performance in their organizations. It's worth checking out.

Yesterday was the second day of my two-day Leadership Challenge Workshop with an energized cohort from Sutter Health (Bay area). We had a great discussion about a leaders role in "Encouraging the Heart." Our conversation centered around "encouraging the heart" goes beyond just providing praise or recognition; it's about instilling a deep sense of belief and confidence in each individual's abilities. When leaders encourage the heart, they not only uplift others but also empower them to recognize their own potential and strengths. It's about fostering an environment where team members feel valued, supported, and capable of achieving great things. By nurturing this belief in themselves, individuals are more likely to take risks, push boundaries, and ultimately contribute to the collective success of the team. In essence, encouraging the heart is about cultivating a culture of self-belief and resilience, where each person feels empowered to strive for excellence. These numbers underscore a crucial truth: trust isn't just a "nice-to-have" – it's a fundamental driver of engagement, retention, and overall organizational health. Building a culture of trust presents a unique challenge for many leaders. Often, the leadership styles we experienced earlier in our careers don't align with today's best practices for fostering trust and psychological safety. As leaders, we're tasked with breaking this cycle and implementing positive change, all while managing our day-to-day responsibilities, developing our teams, and driving business results. This is precisely why external coaching has become indispensable in modern leadership development. An outside perspective can help us identify blind spots, challenge ingrained habits, and provide strategies for implementing trust-building practices effectively. Remember, trust is the bedrock upon which engagement, innovation, and high performance are built. As leaders, it's our responsibility to cultivate it deliberately and consistently.

Trusted Executive Coach & Consultant for Leaders | Boost your bottom line by building extraordinary teams | EQ & Management Training | Feat. Forbes & TEDx Speaker
Tomorrow is The CGC Leadership Institute's L&D Leader Roundtable, and I've got a confession… There's more to it than meets the eye. (In case you missed it: we've curated an invite-only gathering with some of the brightest minds in Learning & Development from 15 industries. Intrigued? DM me to join our next session!) Giancarlo and I have been heads down in our work this quarter—immersing ourselves in client work, strategizing for the future… A few weeks ago, we had a realization. In our dialogues with L&D leaders, a common theme emerged… L&D leaders are expected to solve their company's most pressing cultural, talent, and skill challenges, all while working with limited resources and small teams. It can be lonely! We feel that isolation too, even as external partners. Here’s our aha: We're uniquely positioned at the nexus of clients, conversations, and change… This intersection presents us with a unique opportunity: To be the catalyst, the spark, the bridge for the Learning & Development community… And that was the impetus for the L&D Leader Roundtable. We’re creating a space where we can come together to share our insights and support one another. A place where we can engage with our peers without all the hassle and expense of traditional conferences. So, what's my hidden motive? To step beyond the everyday grind and embrace my role as a catalyst for connection and conversation. I'm genuinely excited for tomorrow...and for those of you joining us, we're thrilled to host you!!

𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 1 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 4 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬. There are plenty of reasons why trust is missing in our workplaces. - The leaders do not communicate frequently and effectively enough - The leaders are unable to be assertive and influence others - There is blatant favoritism and bias at play - The leader does not show trust first in their team members These are just some reasons workplace dynamics suffer. Most, however, have a common cause: a lack of effective #leadershipdevelopment practices. Without the right training in core leadership competencies, leaders are set up for failure, which can impact the whole organization. #workplacetrust #employeeengagement
