Bavaria shines with ground-breaking innovations thanks to collaboration between different industries. The TUM Hyperloop program at the Technische Universität München (Technical University of Munich) exemplifies such synergy. 🚄 Launched in 2015, this initiative has not only taken the lead in the SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competitions but also introduced Europe's first operational hyperloop testbed in 2023. This achievement underlines the potential of cross-industry innovation in crafting futuristic transportation solutions. Bavaria's unique ecosystem, which blends world-class educational institutions with a robust industrial base creates an ideal setting for such collaborative ventures. The region boasts over 30 prestigious universities and a dense network of businesses and research facilities, fostering an environment to drive innovation. 🌐 In our interview, Project Lead Gabriele Semino discusses how the TUM Hyperloop program leverages these advantages to pioneer developments in sustainable transportation. He shows why Bavaria puts itself on the Forefront to the world’s leading tech hubs. Gabriele also sheds light on the synergy between top-tier students and major companies that propel innovations like the Hyperloop. 💻 For more insights, check out the full interview with Gabriele on our website and learn more about cross-industry innovation in the mobility area: https://lnkd.in/eNXXRk7P UCI HyperXite - SpaceX Hyperloop Competition #successinbavaria #freshfrombavaria #crossindustryinnovation #mobility #hyperloop Image: TUM Hyperloop

What's behind the name "DENA"? In 2022, our first detector series was about to be launched. Not only did we need a market-ready product. To launch the detectors, we also had to come up with a product name and decided to call our product line "Dena". But what's the story behind it? Our detectors are named after Mount Dena - a mountain range in the Zagros Mountains. It is 80 km long and 15 km wide and has more than 40 peaks higher than 4000 meters with Qash-Mastan as the highest peak at 4409 meters 🗻 Climbing a mountain takes a lot of energy and dedication, but the journey to the top and especially the arrival at the top are very rewarding. Launching our DENA series was our first summit as a company, and now we're happy to see that our dedication was worth it and that our detectors' peak performance is making our customers happy. Fortunately, the world has many mountains to climb - let's see which one will be our next adventure! Pixel Photonics #innovationstory #deeptechstartup #snspd #singlephotondetector #photondetection

Did you know hyperloop technology can propel passenger pods at speeds up to 900 km/h with minimal energy consumption? Last week, I had the opportunity to check out the first-ever passenger hyperloop in Europe at #TUMSustainabilityDay at the Technical University of Munich. Experiencing this firsthand was super awesome: Imagine travelling from Munich to Berlin in just about 40 minutes – a distance of 600 kilometres in hyper-speed! The TUM Hyperloop team, renowned for their record-breaking wins at the SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition, has brought this vision closer to us. Globally, the development of hyperloop projects is advancing rapidly, with pilot projects and test tracks in various stages of development. Hyperloop also recently received the iF DESIGN Award 2024 for their hyperloop vehicle, marking the first milestone in a comprehensive testing strategy to develop ultra-high-speed transport. This award highlights the effort to create a vehicle designed around the passenger, ensuring a travel experience that embodies confidence and trust in this revolutionary technology. While the timeline for commercial hyperloop routes remains uncertain, these advancements indicate that the technology is becoming increasingly realistic, with significant progress toward implementation. I'm super excited that Rosberg Philanthropies enables ground-breaking innovation together with the Technical University of Munich – THE hub for entrepreneurship in Germany and across Europe! What excites you most about the future of transportation? Let me know in the comments... #Hyperloop #Technology #Innovation

If it is implemented, it will cause a massive increase in transportation.Workers who work long distances can get to their hometown in a matter of hours.Virgin Hyperloop has been developing this project in India since 2017, in collaboration with the Maharashtra government. They focus on the route between Mumbai and Pune, with the goal of significantly reducing travel time between the two cities. The proposed route would cover the distance in about 20 to 30 mins, compared to the current travel time of around 3 hrs by road.

Wiesn Shuttle 2024 - If We Can Make It Here, We Can Make It Anywhere! 🎡🚙 One and a half years ago, we finally got our hands on EDGAR, the new research vehicle of the Technische Universität München. We started at the very beginning, and over the past months, our incredibly talented team of Research Associates spent countless hours assembling all the necessary ingredients for success: 📷 Synchronizing and calibrating our complex sensor setup 🌆 Establishing a real-time 3D simulation environment 💾 Setting up a data center to handle the massive amounts of data collected during our test runs 💻 Implementing a modular software stack based on Autoware Foundation With these foundations in place, we could finally shift our focus to the development of AV algorithms. We worked tirelessly on our track next to the Oktoberfest, overcoming various challenges, e.g. 🗺 In-house generation of HD maps 🚋 Perception of uncommon objects (rickshaws, trams, etc.) 🚶♂️ Motion-Prediction of large groups of pedestrians 🕹 Integration of our teleoperation software to handle corner cases that our AV software isn’t quite ready for (yet) Last week, everything finally came together (https://lnkd.in/dn_F9hUW). We had the opportunity to showcase all our progress to Markus Blume, Dieter Reiter, Clemens Baumgärtner, Sabine Effner, Thomas F. Hofmann, the media, and the public - and we couldn’t be more proud of EDGAR’s ability to navigate safely through such a complex environment! A huge shoutout to the team for their dedication and perseverance - it’s an amazing feeling to see all the hard work paying off!
