When I began my journey in Technical Sales, I must admit that I was initially unsure about the nature of my role. It seemed to go by various titles across different companies, including Inside Sales, Technical Sales, Proposal Engineer, etc. Over time, I've gained a comprehensive understanding of this profession and how it should be defined within an organization. Transforming engineers into "quotation" machines doesn't align with their true potential and expertise. Organizations can extract much more value from their engineers by redefining how they view their resource. So, what defines a truly valuable resource within an organization? [1] One which increases the willingness to pay (WTP) of their customers. [2] One which reduces the costs. How can a technical sales engineer add value to the above aspects? [1] To increase the WTP, they should actively engage with customers to understand their requirements and effectively convey the value they can provide while meeting those needs. [2] To reduce the costs to the company, the technical sales engineer should work in close collaboration with their engineering team to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency. Here is what I feel is truly important : ✴ It's essential to note that any extra actions required to bridge the gap between these two vital points should be automated by the organization. A supportive system is indispensable to unlock the full potential of a Technical Sales Engineer. #technicalsales #sales #willingnesstopay #costreduction #proposalengineer #insidesales

I met many great salespeople who came from an engineering background. Here's why #engineers often make great #salespeople: . . 𝟭. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺-𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 🛠️ Engineers are great at solving problems, similar to identifying a customer's problem and providing a solution in sales. . 𝟮. 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹 🔍 Engineers are very meticulous. In sales, paying attention to details can be the difference between a successful or unsuccessful deal. . 𝟯. 𝗟𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 🧠 Engineers use logic to persuade. A logical explanation can often convince a sceptical client. . 𝟰. 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 💪 Engineering projects demand perseverance, and the same goes for closing deals in sales. . Sales might be an excellent opportunity if you're an engineer considering a career change. . What has been your experience with engineers in sales? Please feel free to share your thoughts below! . . #SalesEngineer #TechnicalSales #SalesMadeSimple

People have always asked me what is Sales Engineering(SE) ? why do we need it ? So i thought let me put my thoughts down. This can we help give you a perspective on SE Are you an engineer who loves talking to people and understanding businesses? Tired of only coding? Consider a career in Sales Engineering or Solution Engineering! As a Sales Engineer, you'll help enterprise technology companies sell, which means more revenue and explosive company growth. And who doesn't want to be on a rocket ship? High tech products are complex, and Sales Engineers play a crucial role in the sales process. While the Account Executive brings in the leads and negotiates, the Sales Engineer demonstrates the value of the platform, understands the customer's challenges, and integrates the solution into the customer's ecosystem. It's like the good cop, bad cop routine in a police interrogation, except the Sales Engineer is the good cop who works with the customer on the technical side, and the Account Executive is the bad cop who asks the hard questions about money. Or think of it like two wheels on a bicycle, where one cannot run without the other. The Sales Engineer and Account Executive must work in unison to show the value of complex technology products to customers. Ready to fuel the rocket ship and take your technical skills to the next level? Consider a career in Sales Engineering. #salesengineering #solutionsengineering #sales #enterprisesales

📊 Sales First, 🔧 Engineering Second In sales engineering, it's crucial to remember: we are, first and foremost, in a sales position. Sales engineering isn't just about demonstrating the technical prowess of a product; it's about understanding and addressing the client's needs to close the deal. Our role is to seamlessly bridge the gap between technology and client goals, ensuring our solution drives value from the very first interaction. We must remember that every call is a sales call. What I've learned is that great sales engineers don't just support sales; they drive exceptional sales results 📈. #sales #technologysales #presales
