It's time to rally for education and support our community's students through our Annual Back to School Drive. Partnering with CW7 Arizona (KAZT-TV)'s Stuff the Bus, we're collecting school supplies from June 8 to July 6 to benefit local Title I schools and Arizona nonprofits supporting education. Students need a wide range of supplies, including backpacks, notebooks, pens, Crayola crayons and more. Your donation will help equip students with the tools they need to succeed in the classroom and beyond. Visit any Desert Financial branch to drop off your donations. Hello Colleagues, Connections, and Friends! The CohnReznick LLP Charlotte office CARES initiative for July has been collecting donations for Classroom Central. Through their partnerships, each $1 donated becomes $9 worth of distributed supplies for students in our community. These donations give students the supplies they need for a successful school year. Every dollar donated (via the link below) through the end of the day today will go to purchasing kits that will be given to local students in need. We will assemble these kits ourselves, and deliver them to Classroom Central next month. Please consider making a small (or large) donation to our local students and teachers! Consider this insight from a 3rd-grade teacher in Charlotte: "There are always unseen challenges for students. As teachers, we strive to understand and address the struggles they face outside the classroom. When kids live in poverty and high-stress environments, focusing on learning to read or understand fractions becomes incrementally more difficult, not to mention the stress of worrying if they can get the necessary books and supplies they need to complete their homework and lessons. With the help of Classroom Central, I can alleviate at least one of their stressors, making it easier for them to feel capable and successful while they're at school." Thank you for any and all donations!! <3 https://lnkd.in/gQezNchQ

Education unlocks potential, but financial barriers often block deserving students' paths—especially for first-generation and undocumented scholars. That's why we at Mission Graduates are proud to partner with the Mission Promise Neighborhood to provide critical support for students at John O'Connell High School. Our goal is to bridge the higher education gap. Even with traditional financial aid, students face tuition gaps, application fees, and technology costs. Undocumented students confront even greater hurdles as they don't qualify for government tuition assistance. Here's how you can make a difference: • Donate: Text MPNSF24 to 53-555 or visit givebutter.com/MPNSF24 to invest in their futures. • Volunteer: Let me know if you'd like to explore volunteering, including opportunities with scholarship selection. • Spread the Word: Share this post to raise awareness about #EducationEquity! #MissionGraduates #EducationEquity #UndocumentedStudents #FirstGeneration #CollegeAccess #SanFrancisco
This is how YOU can help Mission students get to college: The 9th annual Mission Promise Neighborhood Scholarship Fundraiser starts TODAY! For the past 9 years, Mission Promise Neighborhood (MPN) and Mission Graduates have teamed up to help college-bound seniors at John O'Connell High School reach the next step towards achieving their dreams with a college education. Why am I raising money to donate books? Imagine a world where your zip code determines your access to stories, knowledge, and dreams. A staggering 82% of CPS elementary schools lack a functioning library, a basic necessity we often take for granted. The disparity grows as we learn that libraries exist in only 10% of primarily Black schools and 21% in Latinx schools. Now, picture a child's home. In 61% of low-income families, not a single age-appropriate book graces their shelves. Yet, studies show that children growing up in homes with at least twenty books gain an additional three years of schooling compared to their peers from bookless environments. Books are more than just paper and ink. They are windows to new worlds, bridges to immense possibilities, and the keys to unlocking untapped potential. Join me in turning the page on educational inequality. Your donation to Working in the Schools (WITS) can light up countless lives, one book at a time. For most of us, it's probably not normal to spend our own money just to do our job. For teachers, unfortunately it is. Teachers spend an average of $860 out of pocket on school supplies each year so their students won’t go without. At AdoptAClassroom.org, we help teachers get the funding they need to equip students with essential learning tools and materials, without having to dig into their own pockets. If you’re interested in learning more about what we do or how you can help, visit us at https://lnkd.in/gTWVNK9c BONUS: This week is Teacher Appreciation Week. If you’d like to show your support for teachers with a donation, donations to AdoptAClassroom.org will be DOUBLED all week*, so your dollar will make an even bigger impact.
