🎓 DG Impianti Industriali S.p.A., together with CHIMEC, GEOLOG International, and Steam, along with the SPE Italian Section, has been actively involved in organizing and welcoming students from Politecnico di Torino’s Geothermal Energy Summer School to the Geothermal Museum in Larderello, Tuscany. 🍻 Not only have we explored the history of geothermal energy, research techniques and drilling models, but also had a great time at Vapori di Birra, brewery, fueled by geothermal steam, where geothermy and innovation meet sustainability. 🎓🌿 DG Impianti is committed to students and the future of engineering. 🚀 Our mission extends beyond designing industrial plants; it’s about nurturing knowledge, fostering innovation, and empowering the next generation.
Last week we successfully completed the summer school on “Geothermal energy: resource assessment, plants, and environmental impacts” which was organized by the professors Vera Rocca, Christoforos Benetatos, Alessandro Casasso and Glenda Taddia of the Department of Environment, Land and Infrastructure Engineering (#DIATI) Politecnico di Torino. The event was held under the patronage of the SPE Italian Section and ETIP-Geothermal and within the program of the SPE Europe Energy Conference & Exhibition. The strong collaboration between Universities (Politecnico di Milano, Sapienza Università di Roma, Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna) and international and leading companies (Exergy ORC, Steam, Turboden S.p.A., Geothermal Ukraine) led to the success of the event. 25 Master’s (MSc) students from several different #Engineering and #Geoscience tracks, originating from 12 different countries, had the opportunity to learn from major experts in deep geothermal energy. During the lessons they expanded their knowledge on geological and engineering aspects of geothermal fields, power production, numerical flow and heat transport modelling in porous media. They were introduced into the actual needs and objectives of the geothermal energy sector while experiencing team working in an international and multi-cultural environment. The 3-days conclusive event of the summer school included the field trip to Larderello (Pisa), the visit to the workshop of Exergy ORC and the presentations of the results of their group work at SPE Europe Energy Conference & Exhibition. Special thanks to the sponsors Chimec SpA, Steam, DG Impianti Industriali S.p.A., GEOLOG International and SPE Italian Section. #geothermalenergy #summerschool #larderello #SPE
