Department of Health and Social Care’s Post

On her first visit as Minister for Patient Safety, Women's Health and Mental Health, Baroness Gillian Merron saw first-hand the incredible work at Mind's Openhouse.   There she met volunteers and beneficiaries supported by the service, as well as Men's Shed CEO Charlie Bethel, and Mind's Policy Director Minesh Patel.   With an estimated 1.2 million people on mental health waiting lists, we have made mental health a top priority.   #MentalHealth #MentalHealthSupport

It was a great honour to have Baroness Merron visit us at Mind Tower Hamlets, Newham and Redbridge, particularly as it was her first visit in her new role. Our service users, peer supporters and staff loved meeting the Minister, her passion and enthusiasm for improving mental health services shone through. We feel positive about the difference she will make in her new role.

Lovely to see you in this role Gillian, all the best x
