Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay This year's theme is: Our minds, our rights-Mental health is a universal human right. Affordable and accessible mental healthcare services go a long way in promoting mental wellness. Dealing with systemic issues like high cost of living, affordable housing, affordable and accessible healthcare services, racism, sexism, adequate pay and so on plays a critical role on our mental wellbeing

Picture yourself arriving at a hospital, your possessions confiscated for no apparent reason. Unfamiliar medications are administered and there's no explanation for your presence or the duration of your stay. This distressing situation is experienced by numerous individuals, including Belle, in #mentalhealth facilities. Watch Belle's powerful story about institutionalisation and the urgent need for policy changes to provide support. Everyone deserves respect, dignity, and quality mental healthcare. We know many health professionals who are interested in the idea of digital mental health are reluctant to get involved in the use of these resources due to concerns over reliability, efficacy and safety for their clients. For those people we have some really good news! In late 2022 the Australian Commission for Safety and Quality in Healthcare launched a process of accreditation for digital mental health care tools and resources. The new standards help take the guesswork out of choosing a digital mental health service, allowing us to focus on how to use them in practice!
