In my humble opinion the NHS needs a 20year plan not a 4 year term of change and being a political pawn. Why shouldn’t it become a self governed body with a budget.

Let’s hope he remembers the social care element in his title, as his predecessors did a resounding job of overlooking it.

The NHS cannot deal with everyone's expectations in these times Children watching you tube or social media decide that they have something similar to another and they need treatment for that condition. Instead of a robust plan to examine that expectation the child is given puberty blockers and labelled "trans" Mental health has become a priority as many of the children using street drugs have developed worrying signs of psychosis and other mental health issues. Children who have become isolated during covid and still isolated now have developed mental health issues due to that isolation. Our NHS cannot cope with the influx. Please get qualified CPNs in local doctors surgeries alongside counsellors and some of the pressure will be taken from hospitals

I wish you well mr Streeting however i truly feel that our employees in the health and social care industry SHOULD be paid a lot more than they are being paid now because what is better than having your employees thinking more about how they can treat patients better more than thinking how am i going to make my pay last me this month trust me there is nothing more depressing than not being able to afford the bills.

Wes, please can you look at Adult Social Care at Surrey County Council, just down the road from the Royal Surrey. They decimated our lives. They ignored the DHSC SHARE consensus, created ASC Records that were inaccurate and harmful. Shared special category data with non statutory safeguarding authority, without the data controllers permission, used derogatory ageist language that was inaccurate and used threats of violence to try to coerce people to comply with health assessments they didn’t need or want. Th made a Surrey family flee their home and ignored NHSE guidance that they should erase data in line with referrals not accepted. Following complaints the Director of ASC extended data retention of inaccurate data in the full knowledge that her actions were preventing people accessing NHS CARE for a double transplant. Their actions have resulted in a series of stress induced TIAs and a cardiac arrhythmia.

Congratulations Wes Streeting 👏 We look forward to working with you to help get the NHS, not only back on its feet and fit for the future, but on its front foot and driving prevention, reducing health inequality and improving health outcomes for the long term health, wellbeing and productivity of the population and economic growth.

Wes - keep your positivity - Health and social care staff are fundamentally good and altruistic people poised and desperate to have their passion to care and help really reignited and if treated with respect and listened to will lead and accept changes that will need to be made to truly return to timely and appropriate UHC and HSC that we can again all be proud of! We are all ready to help you succeed!

None of our elected Governments have ever got this right, the model is broken and in desperate need of change, to deliver a world class model of expedient patient centric care, better efficiencies than the dysfunctional system of chaos this country ihas experienced, and has for decades The NHS is the precious jewel in our crown and the cornerstone and constant! Good luck Mr Streeting!

It was lovely to meet you Wes on a wet bank holiday Monday in Rossendale. Such an awesome speech on what we need to do next. I know you will provide the leadership the NHS so desparately needs. All the best and many congratulations on appointment as Secretary of State for Health and Social Care.
