How to acknowledge a woman you admire in 3 easy steps 1. Decide who you want to acknowledge 2. Define what about her you what to acknowledge. Make sure it’s something about her character, strengths, qualities, etc. and not something superficial. 3. Deliver your acknowledgement. P.S. Adding an open-ended question to your acknowledgment, such as “What would you like to acknowledge about yourself?” can make it even more powerful. Who do you admire?

Today marks a remarkable convergence of two significant celebrations: INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY & MAHASHIVRATRI. As we honor women's achievements and advocate for gender equality, it's fascinating to reflect on the concept of Ardhanarishvara, where Lord Shiva is depicted as half-male (SHIV) and half-female (SHAKTI), symbolizing the inseparable union of masculine and feminine energies. In our modern world, this symbolism resonates deeply as we recognize and celebrate the power of women in every sphere of life. Just as Ardhanarishvara represents balance and harmony, let us embrace the strength and resilience of women, who continuously break barriers, challenge norms, and lead with compassion and wisdom. On this auspicious day, let's reaffirm our commitment to creating a world where every woman has the opportunity to thrive and contribute fully to society. Happy International Women's Day and Mahashivratri to all! #InternationalWomensDay #Mahashivratri #Ardhanarishvara #WomenEmpowerment

🌟 International Women’s Day: A Call to Action for All 🌟 🔥 Did you know? Despite significant progress, gender equality remains an elusive goal. Even in developed countries, women continue to face disparities in the professional world. Let’s dive into some striking facts: 1. Pay Gap Persists: On average, women earn 82 cents for every dollar earned by men. This gap is even wider for women of color. 2. Leadership Imbalance: Only 7.4% of Fortune 500 CEOs are women. The glass ceiling still looms large. 3. Unpaid Labor: Women perform 2.6 times more unpaid care and domestic work than men globally1. It’s time to recognize and value this invisible labor. 4. Tech Gender Gap: In the tech industry, women hold just 25% of computing jobs. We need to bridge this digital divide. 🌎 But here’s the truth: International Women’s Day isn’t about pitting men against women. It’s not a battle for supremacy!!! It's not about us vs. them. It’s about collaboration, equity, and investing in a better future for all. 🤝 Men, this is your fight too! When we empower women, we uplift society as a whole. It’s not about taking away from anyone; it’s about creating a level playing field. Let’s celebrate the achievements of women like Reshma Saujani, a trailblazer who founded Girls Who Code to close the gender gap in tech. Her advocacy for women’s economic empowerment and inclusion inspires us all. 🎬 Watch this empowering video (thank you for sharing, Lisa K.!) featuring Reshma Saujani and join the movement for a more inclusive world. Let’s inspire inclusion because when women thrive, everyone benefits. 💪🏽🌟 #InspireInclusion #InternationalWomensDay #GenderEquality #InvestInWomen

Last year I completed Oxford Women’s Leadership Development Programme, and one of the many lightbulb moments was how self doubt can be the enemy of progress for women. For example, research has shown that when men are asked to identify their first experience of leadership, most reference their childhood, perhaps captaining a sports team. Women, on the other hand, typically reference their first managerial role at work. So as we look to the IWD theme; invest in women, accelerate progress, to all the wonderful women in my network, please invest in yourself. Self-acceptance in such a critical part of development, and acknowledging your abilities as a female leader. Here the brilliant Reshma Saujani recalls her own lightbulb moment of self-acceptance, and how it has positively impacted her self-belief, confidence and agency. Steven Bartlett demonstrates the powerful role of communication, and that even in the simple act of sharing this video with his network, he has invested in women. Happy Women’s Day 2024!
