On Monday, DRC and other members of the Mandela Campaign coalition gathered at the state capitol for a day of action to end solitary confinement in California! Survivors of this cruel and inhumane practice, their families, faith leaders, community members and organizations called on our state’s leadership to do the right thing by passing The California Mandela Act (AB 280). In response to state and local governments increasingly proposing mask bans, Disability Rights California and Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund (DREDF) put out a statement condemning these bans and urging lawmakers to protect people with disabilities.
