Real(ly) India A Brazilian aircraft, flown by a foreign Captain, with a diverse cabin crew & 2 x 2 seating that departed early and arrived early as well! The airline's tagline "Connecting Real India" With all the brand hype & media noise globally about #airindia & #indigoairlines the world has no idea about the smaller airlines that exist in #india Star Air is one such airline! So when I needed to book a flight from Pune to Hyderabad, Star Air showed up! The timing was good and the price just about right! But as with any small unknown brand name, you tend to wonder; 📌Will the flight get cancelled? 📌What will the experience onboard be like? 📌You wonder about the aircraft & its reliability! But small things sometimes have big suprises packaged! Star Air ✈️ operates a fleet of Embraer ERJ 145LR & ER175 Our flight was an ER175 with a 2 x 2 seating! No middle seat, yay! (Has a business class as well) The flight left Pune early and arrived into Hyderabad early as well! Was a full flight, but with 78 seats, a crowd is not a crowd! The service on board was comparable to any major airline! (But no chicken junglee sandwich) The strangest part of the experience was walking from the gate to the aircraft. No bus, no aerobridge, just a short minute wander down airside on your own to board the plane! (wonder what the safety & security professionals would say about this) So which airlines are real(ly) India - the mega corporate giants or the small ones that connect the places that we've never heard of???? And talking about customer service, personalization, experience, etc., etc., you wonder what is it that really matters when you travel? Get real David, you may say! India needs those mega big airlines to catch up with the world! To handle the millions of potential customers! But most times you don't need the brand or the bells & whistles, or the bright shiny planes! All you need is a simple product that will get you from A to B on time and cost effectively! And travel is always about YOUR experience! That's what is Real(ly) India! #aviation #travel

IndiGo (InterGlobe Aviation Ltd) When you call yourself a low cost airline- do you mean our fare low or keeping your own costs low??? Meanwhile, it is good to see AIRINDIA LIMITED gradually building its brand back .. moderately priced, welcoming staff, timely take off, no extrapolation of landing time to call themselves “before time arrival’ and serving food in the craft! .. the way airlines used to be earlier .. i recollect first flying experience with Jets and Indian Airlines of early 2000s On the other hand, Indigo seems to be going down south .. overtly priced for a low cost airline, long delays with no empathy or apologies or compensation, unhappy staff (subjective), food quality complaints and mind you after paying money for it over and above .. All this is ok if you bring down your fare to a low cost airline category; because then I know what am I signing up for!! Pune author on flying Air India: ‘Will take a bullock cart but not your airline’; Author #AdityaKondawar was on an Air India Limited flight from Bengaluru to Pune when he had a harrowing experience. Following this, he said that he will never fly with the airline. An author and vice president of a startup had a distressing experience on an Air India flight from Bengaluru to Pune on Monday, June 24. Aditya Kondawar was so upset by what he went through that he decided not to #travel with the airline again. He further expressed that he would pay extra or even consider alternative modes of transportation, such as a bullock cart, but would not fly Air India. “Thank you for teaching me a very valuable #lesson last night,” Kondawar wrote in his note addressing Air India on the micro-blogging platform X. In the next few lines, he added, “Never and I mean it with all seriousness - I am never flying Air India Express or Air India in my life again - I will pay 100% extra cost if needed but will take other airlines that are on time (only 2 other airline options anyways).” “Will take a bullock cart but not your airline,” he stressed. Kondawar then explained the reason behind it. He said his #flight, which was scheduled for 9:50 pm, took off at around 12:15 am. “The flight was stinking and the seats were so #dirty and full of #stains.” He also said he reached home at 3 am after “sitting through multiple management interactions”. Air India Welcomes First A320 Neo Aircraft July 8, 2024 Air India, which is owned by the Tata Group, just bought its first narrow-body plane with a new uniform. The color code for this Airbus A320 Neo is VT-RTN, and it got to Indira Gandhi International Airport on July 7 from Toulouse, France. This is an important step in Air India’s continued process of change. Air India’s Fleet Enhancement The Airbus A320 Neo, which was just released, has three classes. This plan has 132 comfortable economy class seats, 24 premium economy seats with extra legroom, and luxury business class seats. This is the first time that Air India has offered a premium economy class on a narrow-body plane. It is planned that the plane will start flying short-haul domestic flights in August 2024. Current and Future Plans Air India currently runs three A320 Neo planes in its internal network. These planes have similar three-class layouts but wear older liveries. Starting in early 2019, the airline will add new, upgraded, and refurbished narrow-body and wide-body planes to its fleets to make the customer experience even better. Historical Overview of Air India Air India was started by J.R.D. Tata and had its first flight on October 15, 1932. Since then, it has built a large network of flights both in India and other countries. The airline had been owned by the government for 69 years before it was bought back by the Tata Group in January 2022. Salestorrs, last month, IndiGo surpassed the American Southwest Airlines to become the world's third-largest airline by market capital.
