Owner| Working with Physician Practice Owners to Improve Team Engagement, Elevate Patient Care, Systemize Operations | Cheering on Women in Healthcare
I was loyal. I was committed. ...and I was steamrolled ❗️ Over the course of a year, after being given a leadership role, I worked tirelessly to take our program at the women's clinic to the next level: 🩺 Redesigned program materials 🩺 Increased efficiency 🩺 Improved patient participation 🩺 Empowered each staff member in their individual roles I was constantly analyzing, improving, and keeping the entire network informed along the way. THEN the director hired a manager for my department. ✋ Every decision I made was challenged. ✋ Every part of my established process was controlled. ✋ My work hours were called into question AND changed. I asked our (new) director to step in and mediate when the one on ones with the new manager contained zero strategy and 100% scrutiny. The director didn't seem to care about our program, how it affected the patients, or the massive amount of work that the team had all put in. It was a power play. She undid an entire year's worth of growth in less than 90 days. I left. This is one of the many reasons I started Harmony Partnerships, and why I believe cultivating employee wellbeing is intregal in creating a patient centric practice💙 What experiences have you had with leadership challenges in your practice? Please share your thoughts in the comments below. #harmonypartnerships #smallbusiness #healthcareleadership

*Navigating Hospital Leadership: Unveiling Players from Pretenders In the intricate tapestry of hospital leadership, discerning between genuine players and pretenders is pivotal for cultivating a culture of excellence and trust. True players embody authenticity, leading by example and inspiring confidence through their unwavering commitment to the hospital's mission and values. They prioritize transparency, empowering their teams and fostering collaboration to achieve collective goals. Conversely, pretenders may exhibit surface-level charm but lack the substance of genuine leadership. They may prioritize personal gain over the well-being of the organization, resorting to manipulation or evasion when faced with challenges. Identifying players from pretenders requires a keen eye for key indicators: ✓Authenticity: Players lead with integrity, aligning their words with their actions and earning the trust of their team through consistent behavior. ✓Leading by Example: Players roll up their sleeves and work alongside their team, demonstrating humility, resilience, and a commitment to excellence. ✓Empowering Others: Players foster a culture of empowerment, recognizing and developing the talents of their staff to their fullest potential. ✓ Embracing Transparency: Players value open communication and transparency, inviting feedback and addressing concerns proactively. ✓Continuous Growth: Players prioritize personal and professional development, embracing feedback and adapting to new challenges with agility and resilience. By observing these traits, hospital leaders can distinguish true players who drive positive outcomes from pretenders who may hinder progress. Let us collectively elevate the standard of hospital leadership by championing authenticity, transparency, and a commitment to excellence in all our endeavors. Together, we can cultivate a culture where genuine leadership thrives, enriching the lives of patients, staff, and the community we serve. #HospitalLeadership #AuthenticLeadership #HealthcareExcellence #drjyoti #beingagm

President & CEO at ERDMAN | Culture Builder | Healthcare Thought Leader & Strategist | Healthcare Planning & Real Estate
It's incredibly meaningful and important to be a part of the healthcare industry. The meaning and impact of our work is life and healing. Effective teamwork and a cohesive working environment are always the goal. Every team member brings their strength and personality to our efforts, so these 4 key strategies for healthcare leaders are insightful ways that we can implement to help us in this challenging, yet innovative season. 1. Seek External Perspectives - Go out into the community and ask what it is they need from you and do that, rather than try to guess what it is they need and try to solve those needs first. 2. Seek Internal Differences - Find the bridge that needs to be built between your community and its leaders and you and your facility staff, and then build it. 3. Involve Everyone - Organizational involvement and success take everyone, not just those in leadership roles, but every single person and contribution that they make work together as a whole to make everything run smoothly and successfully. 4. Get Out Of The Way - Put your piece of individuality into the mix, trust your team, and then allow everyone to succeed in their roles is key. Seeing your ideas and strategy start as seeds that are planted brings great fulfillment as they grow into effective business practices. There is no greater honor than to work in an industry that promotes life, care, and healing. The greatest gift is knowing every effort we put in is a small piece in the puzzle of caring for others. It's a life-giving career. #Healthcare #HealthcareLeadership #LeadershipStrategy

I am thrilled to announce my promotion to Senior Associate at Impetus. This new role marks a significant step in my professional journey, allowing me to hone my leadership skills and further my ability to drive impactful change. As I transition into this new role, I am filled with gratitude for the experiences and learnings from my time in Peshawar, working on a large-scale public health sector reform project. This project has been instrumental in shaping my understanding of the critical factors that drive success in public sector initiatives. Two key lessons I am taking with me are: The Power of Public-Private Partnerships: Governments can enhance resource allocation and ensure service access for all by adopting a more regulatory role. Collaboration between the public and private sectors is essential for improving efficiencies, fostering innovation, and enhancing service delivery. The Role of Political Leadership: My time in KP was a tale of two halves. Before the election, the need for strong political leadership was evident, highlighting the importance of commitment from the top. Post-election, we saw the impact of system-level changes driven by political leadership, demonstrating how committed leaders can inspire and mobilize resources to achieve meaningful progress. I am excited to leverage these insights in my new role and look forward to contributing to our mission of transforming public sector organizations. Here’s to new challenges, continued learning, and making a lasting impact! #PublicSector #Consulting #CareerGrowth #PublicHealth #ChangeManagement #InnovationInHealth

Hot off the press: The demand for on-demand leadership is taking off in healthcare as organizations look to fill in gaps or capacity challenges in their organizational charts, writes Alexis Kayser of Newsweek. "When you take the org chart out of it and just think about the lists of challenges and projects and opportunities they have—it's endless," notes Adam Burns of our Interim Leadership team. At the same time, executives like Patrick McDermott relish the opportunity to serve in on-demand roles as a rewarding career option. #interimleadership #impactfulleadership

Strengthening organizations uplifting humanity | Managing Partner Interim Leadership Life Sciences and IB Healthcare | Venture Partner
Excited to see Newsweek covering the importance of interim and on-demand leadership! My colleague Adam Burns sheds light on the impact of on-demand and interim leaders and shares valuable insights. I particularly like the insight Patrick McDermott, one of our interim leaders, shared about his experience. "I wasn't filling an executive vacancy," he said. "It was kind of like Batman and Robin—I was basically the sidekick to the CFO and the revenue cycle vice president. I wasn't replacing them, but I was complementing them, supplementing them." Great coverage of the value interim and on-demand leaders bring to organizations! #interimleadership #interimsolutions #impactfulleadership
