In ammonia production, removing CO2 from synthesis gas is a crucial step. Several technologies are available to reduce CO2 levels in raw syngas from 17% to just a few hundred ppmv. This article by Optimized Gas Treating, Inc. examines the CO2 removal process using a two-stage Benfield method, which is among the most widely used carbonate-based technologies. #ProTreat

Gane Energy says it’s a cost-effective, low-risk alternative to diesel, which can leverage existing infrastructure – and does not need a pilot fuel. Here’s Joanna on what they consider to be the environmental benefits of using liquid methanol fuel instead of diesel fuel or marine fuel oils. Alternative fuels, such as methanol will have a key role to play in the drive to decarbonise the internal combustion engine.
