🤷Do you doubt in your own capability to excecute shipbuilding projects? 🤷♂️Why do we doubt in our own capability? 👉The doubt in our minds about our own capability to excecute our shipbuilding project is one of the root cause of start of disaster in excecution of the project. ❌️The reason for doubt arising is: 👉LACK OF OWNERSHIP. ✔️When it comes to team for excecution of the project, there are 2 kinds of people. 1️⃣Those who own the project or ( parts of the project that they are entrusted with the responsibility. 2️⃣Those who don't own the project (who constitute the stumbling blocks in the path of its progress. ✅️Ownership is needed at all the levels and it is the responsibility of the manager of a project to motivate all other team members to become of their respective part of the project. Do you own your part on the project? OR You say, it's all about production team. Or You say, I don't know to own my part on the project? Think once again. UK SHIPBUILDING: Harland & Wolff, the company which owns four shipyards across the UK including the iconic Belfast yard, has revealed it has reached total headcount of 1,000. Bibby Marine Signs Shipyard Contract to be the Worlds first electric CSOV newbuild Bibby Marine has announced it has signed a shipbuilding contract, to build the world’s first truly zero-emission, electric Commissioning Service Operation Vessel (eCSOV), with shipbuilders, Gondan. The eCSOV will be built in Gondan’s Asturias shipyard in Spain and is scheduled to be delivered in 2026. After a thorough tendering process involving a variety of yards in the UK and overseas, GONDAN Shipbuilders - Astilleros Gondán was selected by Bibby Marine, with an offer that stood out in terms of timeline, budget and quality. Their proven track record in building bespoke, specialist vessels was also a strong factor in selecting Gondan to build this innovative vessel. The eCSOV, which has been designed in collaboration with UK-based ship designers Longitude Engineering will feature a powerful battery system, complemented by dual-fuel methanol engines for emissions-free operations. The vessel will be equipped with industry leading mission equipment, a spacious insulated warehouse and climate controlled electrical store. Ensuring comfort for crew members, the vessel will provide top-tier accommodation with generous communal areas and comfortable cabins. To facilitate zero-emission operations, the eCSOV will feature high-voltage offshore charging facilities for rapid recharging. With the capability to operate solely on battery power for over 16 hours between charging cycles, the vessel is primed for efficient field operations. If the National Shipbuilding Office of the UK Government agrees that a compulsory purchase is feasible, it will only be successful because an operator is willing to step in and reinstate the shipyard. In the UK, the main shipbuilding players are Harland & Wolff, Cammell Laird Shiprepairers & Shipbuilders Limited, A&P Group Limited, BAE Systems and Babcock International Group. We know that in approximately 2021, Harland and Wolff looked seriously at the Pallion Shipyard, despite its condition and the state of the river, because it would give the company immediate and direct access to the North Sea and the various offshore developments. Sadly, we understand that both the Greek owners of the shipyard and Sunderland City Council were not interested in such an approach. I do not believe we are speaking out of turn by saying that CEO John Wood gave his thoughts over this in a reply to a post by us some years back. In the end, the Appledore Shipyard was purchased by Harland & Wolff. Out of interest, it should be noted that Appledore was the prototype for the design that became the Pallion Shipyard, both designed by James Venus. We very much hope that Harland and Wolff may once again have the opportunity to take the Pallion Shipyard on, by working with the UK Government and the NSO to achieve success. But ultimately, an operator will need to be found to allow a CPO of the shipyard to have any legs. Of course, it is far more preferable for it to be a UK based company, but to be able to have this shipyard reinstated once again, then interest by any company worldwide would be welcome.
