On International Women's Day, we shine a spotlight on the importance of addressing intersectionality in transforming social mobility. As we champion social mobility, it's crucial to acknowledge the intersectionality of gender and class, ensuring that all individuals have equal opportunities for upward occupational mobility. Recent data by the Social Mobility Commission reveals a disparity where only 8% of women from lower working-class backgrounds have experienced upward occupational mobility, compared to 14% of men. This discrepancy emphasises the urgent need to break down systemic barriers and create inclusive workplaces that foster diversity and equality. At upReach, we stand committed to providing tailored support to empower our Associates who identify as women to defy these statistics. By working hand-in-hand with leading employers and universities, we are bridging the socio-economic gap for female students with events like Networking Breakfast for Women in Tech. We’ll continue to pave the way for a society where everyone, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to thrive. 💪🏽🚀 #IWD2024 #SocialMobility #Intersectionality #DiversityandInclusion #InternationalWomensDay #8March

Is there a talent shortage in the Swedish Tech World? "Brilliant perspective! It's not just about counting numbers, but recognizing the untapped potential and diverse talents that make up our true majority. Embracing inclusivity isn't just a moral imperative, it's also the smartest strategy for building a robust and innovative tech ecosystem. Here's to amplifying voices and opening doors for everyone in the tech world!" Great thanks for sharing Miski Ahmed & Binette Seck #talentshortage #womentintech #peopleofcolorintech #recruitment #underrepresented #underprivilegde #amplifyvoices #techrecruitment #talentpool #kompetensbrist #kompetensförsörjning #deirecruitment #talentmanagement #risk #technews #tech
”If you gather all the minorities, we ARE actually the majority.” - Binette Seck Why was there a strong underline emphasis on that sentence, one might ask? Because they were addressing the shortage of skilled tech professionals in Sweden and strategies for bridging the gap. How to focus on increasing diversity in the workforce through broadening our recruitment to include people of all backgrounds and abilities. In addition, also focused on how those who are women, immigrants, from underprivileged areas can enter the tech industry in Sweden. #WITswe2024 #tech #inclusivity

'Inspire Inclusion' is this year's theme for IWD - here come the LinkedIn posts 👀 Jokes aside, I am sure my stance on why inclusion in tech is important is pretty clear by now... For those who are still not convinced (I doubt there to be many )- I'll let the numbers speak for themselves 👇 1. Diverse teams = 15% increase in performance 📈 2. More women in leadership roles = smaller gender pay gap 💰 3. 67% of job seekers consider a company's DEI policies before accepting a job. Inclusivity attracts talent 🚀 4. In 2023, women held only 23% of tech jobs. Let's encourage more women to pursue a career in tech and unlock their true or untapped potential 🌟 5. Tech shapes our society - we need more inclusive tech teams to build products that cater to the diverse needs of a global audience 🌍 Inspiring inclusivity in tech is not just something we need to talk about because IWD is coming up, it's a necessity for the future of our society. #iwd2024 #internationalwomensday2024 #WomenInTech #InclusionInTech #TechDiversity 🌈💻

These disparities highlight the dual challenges of race and gender discrimination that hinder career advancement in technology.
