🛒 Getting you noticed, loved, and bought, more often - supermarket shopper researcher, helping challenger and global brands stand out and get bought. Helping food and drink start-ups ace their branding messages on pack
I’m back loafing around in the Waitrose bread aisles. With retailer permission. To interview shoppers. I’m not sour about this dough, either. I’m doing shopper research with Kizzy Beckett for Wildfarmed in Waitrose stores across the country after the launch of Wildfarmed sourdough, sliced white and seeded, and rolls. Is the branding connecting with shoppers on shelf? Did the activations and advertising get noticed? Was the sampling at stores tasty? This is a huge and significant launch in bread: ~ life-changing for UK farmers, life-enhancing for the soil in which they grow the wheat 🌾, better for the planet and better for us. #wildfarmed #bread #breadlaunch #regenerativefarming #shopperresearch #insights

Today we're talking about who has access to full-service supermarkets in America's cities, suburbs, small towns and rural communities. According to The Reinvestment Fund's "2023 Limited Supermarket Access Analysis Report," 8.5% of people in the US live in areas with limited access to full-service supermarkets. This means that families must travel further to get fresh foods, and it creates a barrier to adequate nutrition. This is the 10th year The Reinvestment Fund has published the "Supermarket Access Report," which provides data and context about grocery store access across the country. Here to discuss the latest figures is policy and analyst Michael Norton. Hosted by Kelly Brownell. Aldi UK is the latest supermarket to commit to giving its chickens reared for fresh meat 20% more space than the industry standard. This improvement, set to be completed by the end of October, will enhance the lives of tens of millions of birds. While this is a positive step, there’s more work to be done. Aldi (like many other UK retailers) should join the ranks of Marks and Spencer and Waitrose & Partners by signing up to the Better Chicken Commitment (BCC). The BCC offers a comprehensive set of science-based criteria, that only when fully implemented as a package, will significantly enhance the welfare of broiler chickens. Crucially, the BCC involves moving away from fast-growing breeds that often suffer from health issues, pain and lameness due to rapid growth – some cannot even support their own body weight. Without changing to slower growing breeds, a farming system simply cannot be considered higher welfare. #BetterChickenCommitment #HigherWelfare #ChickenWelfare #AnimalWelfare #Broilers

"Dare to make the world a better, more humane place." Wildlife rescuer and passionate advocate for a more compassionate, sustainable and ecologically-responsible world that cherishes the diversity of all life.
The refusal of major retailers to be responsible and proactive corporate citizens to increase awareness of, and reduce the threat from, #rodenticides, for the sake of business-as-usual, profits before all else, is unconscionable. The fragile excuse offered, insofar that they are taking the lead from the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority, which itself has been exposed for deeply systemic issues and #industrycapture, is deplorable, and underscores a complete disavowal of responsibility for the ongoing inhumane deaths of #wildlife, #companionanimals, and the cascading of #poisons throughout terrestrial and aquatic environments. The scientific evidence from Australia and internationally is undeniable, demonstrating the multi-layered and broad-scale impacts of these poisons. Young children are also at risk from these readily available poisons, yet the retailers continue to act in wilful ignorance. In my own approaches to the three major retailers in Australia, one acknowledged the issue, yet remained content to continue selling these deadly products; the other two retailers failed to even acknowledge the issue in their replies, opting instead to divert to other self-laudatory achievements in other areas of their business. #secondarypoisoning #wildlifehealth #corporatecitizen Lindsey Zehel Lisa Owens Viani Allison Hansen Raptors Are The Solution (RATS) Joe Eaton Azi S. Another news article out today on our research and the rodenticide issue. This well written piece in Yahoo 7 News was in response to posts online about all the dead owls in my freezer. Most interesting was the response from Woolworths and Bunnings who have essentially said they will not regulate these products until the APVMA does. So it is clear where our priority must lie.

Cupboard beetles or “bran bugs,” as they are often called, are beetles that attack stored-grain products or household foodstuffs. Once established in food, populations of these insects canexplode and move throughout the home, infesting other products and other places. Some ofthese beetles enter the home from outdoors, since they are normally scavengers in the environment, while others are transported to the home in purchased materials. #PublicHealth #PestControl #IPM
