Decarbonization is not moving fast enough, not in society at large, nor in the construction industry. At Volvo Construction Equipment, we are determined to accelerate the urgent shift to zero emission worksites. To remove existing barriers, yesterday we brought together representatives from the extended construction value chain, from grid owners, energy producers, construction companies and infrastructure developers, to city administrations, national authorities, and other changemakers in a #MoveToZero event at our global headquarters in Eskilstuna, Sweden.   It was an amazing energy in our workshop engaging all 150 participants, boosted by our excellent guest speakers, including Frida Nordström from Stockholms stad who explained how working with clear CO2 targets in the procurements process of the Slakthusområdet urban re-development project has been a successful driver for change, while Tobias Stöcker shared experiences from the industry consortium Emissieloos Netwerk Infra (ENI) in the Netherlands.   We firmly believe collaboration and acting are keys to get traction. No single company or organization can accomplish this alone. 🤝🌱 GETEC Group and Sonar Real Estate are collaborating to transform the iconic Prisma building in Frankfurt with cutting-edge, sustainable heating and cooling solutions. The Prisma building will soon feature air-to-water heat pumps, photovoltaic systems, usage of excess heat from the atrium and double facade, e-mobility offerings – all connected through intelligent control systems. 🌿 What if I told you this beautiful landscape is hiding a surprising secret under its green surface? Welcome to Energieberg in Hamburg! 🇩🇪 This stunning park has a surprising past—it was once a landfill overflowing with waste. When toxic dioxins ⚠️ were discovered, action was taken to turn it into a safe space. 🚧 Multiple protective layers were built over the landfill to keep the danger contained, preventing contamination from spreading and allowing nature to thrive above. 🌱 But it’s more than just a park. It has become a source of renewable energy.⚡The gases from the decaying waste are collected and used as an energy source. The site now also features wind 💨 turbines and solar 🔆 panels, demonstrating how we can create clean energy from what was once just trash. 🚮 When I stood on that hill during my Erasmus program visit, I couldn’t help but think: we were standing on top of yesterday’s problems. Now, it’s helping fuel the future.🔋 It’s a living example that with the right approach, even the most challenging environmental issues can become opportunities for change. Sustainability isn’t just about technical fixes, it’s about changing how we see 👀 things. This hill is a reminder that potential can exist where others see challenges. We're looking forward to the arrival of our R&D #engineer Tobias Dahl at the world's largest #industry #exhibition in Hannover that focuses on industrial transformation. The Hannover Messe 2024 celebrates the long-standing relationship between Norway and Germany, honouring years of #engineering and #innovation collaborations, cemented further by Norway's energy security guarantee for Europe now, and in the future. Enerin was selected to represent Norway because of its ability to transform industrial energy efficiency through high-temperature heat pump solutions with less CO2. Enerin can save up to two-thirds of your energy bill and compete with the gas price. Reduce factory CO2 emissions and achieve greater energy efficiency by recycling your waste heat. Enerin’s industrial High-Temperature Heat Pump (HTHP) captures waste energy from cooling, heating or the outside air, and converts it into temperatures up to 250 °C for drying, distillation or rapid heating processes. It has been an exciting day so far with lots of VVIP visits to the Norwegian Pavilion.
