Banfield Foundation is back from a weekend on Najavo Nation in Lechee, Arizona and the message is clear: spay and neuter saves lives! 🧡🐕🐈 In communities where spay/neuter is not accessible, we end up with an overpopulation of dogs that can’t be cared for — many get hit by cars, become sick or injured, go without food or shelter and in most cases, become pregnant and the cycle begins again… This is why we are increasingly committed to bringing comprehensive preventive care to Tribal lands and under-resourced communities. The struggle is real (as is the cuteness) — but it doesn’t have to be! #spayandneuter Upon arrival in one neighborhood, this (adorable) mama and her four puppies were found running the streets — all are now spayed/neutered + all four puppies were relinquished; two are looking for new homes. Visit another neighborhood, you’ll find the same situation. In just two days, our team worked with our partners at The Parker Project to spay and neuter 180 animals — we also provided wellness/sick care for 230 pets and provided food, shelter and extended tie-outs for dozens of deserving dogs and cats. + we funded it all! ➡️ Three days on Navajo Nation, three takeaways: 1. Keeping the cat chat going, we desperately are in need of a shelter in the Northwest of Tasmania. This has been identified as major hurdle to successful cat management in the region, as highlighted in the Cradle Coast Regional Cat Management Strategy (2021-2026). Having access to a cat management facility enables residents to safely surrender unwanted cats or kittens thereby reducing the number of abandoned and consequently stray cats in the community. I'm sorry, I normally post /comment/repost mainly work related issues. it's not very professional to let your emotions take over, but I'm so upset today with what goes on inside these "Shelters" What gives these "shelters" the right to kill (or as the prefer to say euthanize)? and really why are they really allowed to call themselves shelters? they kill just to make room to get another animal in, and then they will kill that one too Despicable p s.: if you have Californians in your network pls pls share

In such cases, they perceive giving up their beloved pet as a worse outcome than remaining in an unsafe or unstable environment. In fact, numerous studies and reports have shown that most homeless individuals would prefer to sleep on the streets with their pets than seek refuge in shelters that do not accept animals. This choice highlights the profound connection between homeless individuals and their pets, with the companionship and unconditional love provided by their furry friends serving as a crucial source of comfort and support. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲𝐦𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 –     You have just brought home two sister kittens from the animal shelter. You have named them named them Joy and Harmony. You love and cuddle them, and promise to give them a new, safe forever home. For a couple of months, everything was running smoothly. Everyone was settled in, until -- ❗The honeymoon was over. 🐱 Suddenly, Harmony’s behavior changed. She was starting fights with Joy, and your peaceful home was in chaos. ❓ What was going on? You were perplexed. Why the sudden change in behavior? What is causing this upset? Nothing had changed on the part of the family. ❓ You asked yourself: was she abused before she arrived at the shelter; what does she want or need; how can you help her and restore peace to the family? ❓ You called the animal shelter. They had no record about her past, as the kittens were transferred from a shelter in Texas. ❓ You took her to the vet. Nothing physical. 😟 This is when the kittens’ pet mom asked me to talk with Harmony. She sent me Harmony’s picture and arranged for a time all three of us could meet by Zoom. 💕 Harmony and I had a heart-to-heart discussion. I am sharing the basis of our session here, which was the foundation for using Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping) to change the emotional upset. "I love my family. I love my home. I want to be in charge now. It is my time to be in command. I am important." 💕 Harmony needed to feel important and in charge. I didn’t have to know about her past because the concern was about her present life. She told me in our session what she needed. We went through several statements that Harmony had shifts (changes) over and ended up with this one: 💕 Harmony is important. You are in charge of the peace in the house. I asked her pet mom to repeat the phrase to Harmony, and a few days later, she checked in with this report. 😍 Just to let you know, we're taking steady steps towards peace in our home. If I see Harmony getting ready to charge, I say: You are in charge of peace in the house. I love you and want you and Joy to be friends. She is changing back to her old self daily.
