🍸✨ Hello everyone! It's Tuesday and I wanted to take a moment to share more about what we offer at Dryad Gin. It's definitely not just about selling our delicious gin. One of our heartfelt passions is bringing the local community together. As you may know, we've been organising pop up pub nights over the past year in areas where there is no pub or where a beloved local pub has sadly closed down. We couldn't have made this happen without the support of our incredible team of 8 volunteers, who are all from the local community, and the kind village halls willing to accommodate us. Our journey started when our local village hall in Broomfield sent out a plea - use it or lose it. We decided to give it a shot and see if the locals would fancy a pop up pub. In July 2022, The Dryad Inn was born, and our first night was a resounding success! Recent figures have shown that the closure of pubs is on the rise, with over 150 pubs in England and Wales shutting down in the first three months of 2023. That's an average of 51 pubs closing per month, a significant increase from the previous year. These spaces aren't just places to grab a drink; they are invaluable community hubs. Unfortunately, unaffordable energy bills have taken a toll on the industry, leading to a surge in demolitions or redevelopment of pubs for other purposes. We believe in the power of community and keeping these vital spaces alive.
