That’s a wrap! “Connect and learn” was the best take away here from the 2023 Trimble Dimensions conference. Learning from other industry professionals, and becoming aware of emerging technologies to advance this industry was amazing! ✌️ Until next year!

For the first time ever… and for good reason…we have a DUEL Friday Faces of Dunnet Bay!!! “The Ryans!” Pictured L-R : Ryan Dunne & Ryan Lannon. The Ryans have been killing it on our Kennedy reconstruction project. The numerous compliments we hear about their dedication, professionalism, and overall best in class attitude deserves a shout out. Both Ryans have come a long way from their humble beginnings in the yard to now serving as Superintendents, a testament to their hard work and dedication. They started from the ground up, taking on challenging tasks and learning from the original crew, proving their, shall we say—patience! More recently, Ryan Lannon's participation in the Illinois Road & Transportation Builders Association (IRTBA) Emerging Leadership Program, further underscores his relentless pursuit of learning something new. Thank you, "Ryans", for your commitment to Dunnet Bay. Your efforts are truly appreciated and never go unnoticed.

Close proximity to Lake Michigan is a desire of many; with that comes shoreline restoration. Our foundation crew is hard at work on the Earth Retention System that kept the architectural railing in tact at a client's site. What a view! 🏞️ #LakeMichigan #ShorelineRestoration #Chicago #ConstructionSite #Stabilization #ArchitecturalDesign

Crunching numbers & managing budgets are their day jobs… Tiffany Woods, CCIFP & Patricia N. went out to tour the Millstream Rd / Kishwaukee River Bridge Replacement Project! I think we can all agree that observing field operations in real time is priceless. Not only were they both able to learn something new, they can tap into this experience in their regular day to day to better communicate the “lingo” & terms we use on the daily in this industry. Heres to another successful office vs. field —field trip.

On December 13, IRTBA Emerging Leaders (ELP) volunteered at Feed My Starving Children, where they hand-packed nutritious meals for hungry children around the world. The meals are specially designed to help reverse and prevent malnutrition and will be shipped to children globally. In just two hours, they and other volunteers packed over 29,000 meals -- enough to feed 81 kids for an entire year! This weeks “Friday Face” of Dunnet Bay is Kerry Carlson, Superintendent. Kerry has been with Dunnet Bay for 5 years, but came to us with over 20 years of hands on field and management experience. Kerry started his career as a Laborer, working mostly with the private sector; steadily with hard work, determination, and the right attitude, he has been promoted over the years to now jobsite management. Kerrys expertise in working with various owners/clients makes him the perfect addition to our team. Kerry brings his extensive knowledge of earthwork operations to the table and is consulted regularly on best practices on the job. Kerrys positive, professional, no nonsense way of leadership is just what we look for in a Superintendent; the ability to communicate effectively with craft workers as well as management and clients. If you have the pleasure of working alongside Kerry, you’ll quickly appreciate his team approach and respectful way of “gettin it done”. It is not uncommon for Kerry to put in the extra hours to ensure everything on the job is tended to, and just right. Thank you Kerry for everything you do everyday. Cheers!
