“Let’s get back to broccoli and how Duolingo makes it taste like a hot-fudge sundae.” Thanks for a great write up, The Wall Street Journal. #duolingo #productmanagement https://lnkd.in/eEaci5hR

Great to see The Wall Street Journal talking about the power of the Duolingo streak! Duolingo’s streaks and notifications transform learning into a fun daily habit. Through thousands of A/B tests on streaks and notifications, we’ve refined how we create lasting habits. Our very own Liz Nagler and Bozena Pajak do a great job of explaining how and why we do the things we do to keep our learners engaged: https://lnkd.in/dGcFS_4Y

Angry Duo is very motivating to me!

Well deserved! We're big fans of your app, your content, and your social media manager. Whoooo is so funny behind the keyboard? Keep it up! 😂

For me it's a certain over-dramatic owl on my app who reminds me to do my lessons.

I am on a 736 day streak of learning Japanese. To help me I learn I talk back to the app as I do a lesson. So I am reading, listening and saying the words to get better. I just wish there was more writing.

The streak count AND the leaderboards are the most fun for me. I've been enjoying looking at the leaderboard to see how I'm progressing against other people. It has motivated me to commit more time than I planned towards learning a new language (Spanish)

I'm on a 1044 streak and knowing that there are plenty of people with longer running streaks, I was curious to know what the record is. It's 11+ years ya'll...

I love steamed broccoli w olive oil and a pinch of salt. And my 1403-day Duolingo streak too.

I hadn’t used Duolingo since 2014 because I didn’t find it useful back then. But now I started again and the improvement is very noticeable.

I enjoyed this read and agree that leveraging loss aversion helps maintain lesson consistency. Now, I need to check out Duo’s Taqueria!
