In collaboration with Dr. Stephen Clarke, Dr. Neil Trout, Sean Steed (CEO, Change Climate), and Sara Cole from <1.5degree, we've developed and rigorously tested Byoxy, available as a 99+% bio-based epoxy resin made by Change Climate. Shoutout to the Australian National University for confirming the bio-content. What's the game-changer? Our Byoxy bio-epoxy performs as well, if not better, than traditional epoxy resins! This has been validated by independent research from Deakin University’s Matt Jennings and team, who published a comparison with leading bisphenol-based resins. But the real breakthrough in sustainability?   Byoxy is recyclable. We've successfully separated natural fibers like flax and hemp from bio-composites into reusable materials. Not only did the mechanical strength remain intact, but the compressive strength increased in some cases. In 2023... 🎯 We had our near-term Science Based CO2e reduction targets validated and started implementing a new CO2e emission tool to accurately calculate for Scope 3 emissions. ♻ Continued to drive conversions from single-use plastic packaging to biodegradable moulded-fibre. 📝 Our ESG and Sustainability team conducted our first double materiality assessment, enabling us to prioritize the most important ESG topics for Hartmann while strengthening our competency center to fuel the development of new energy reduction technologies.
