There are so many ways we're amplifying the carbon reduction benefits of EVs with clever ways of making, installing, maintaining and encouraging our driver customers to use our charging infrastructure. Here's a cool one... Take a close look at our charge points. You'll see they're built like Sherman tanks with a super tough cast aluminium case (made in the UK), not cheap plastic crap or rust-prone steel. That makes them durable for the rigors of the street - the toughest environment for charge points! Yes it's more expensive to build them this way, but that design makes them cheaper to operate over the long run. They're also serviceable by our field engineers, so if one component fails (things wear out), the whole unit isn't binned. Less WEEE waste, more cost efficiencies, better uptime. That's the kind of long term thinking providers of charging infrastructure need to have. In the rush to build out charging infrastructure, don't forget this is a long game.

In our recent report, “The State of Quality in the Voluntary Carbon Market,” we draw from our data to outline how the “VCM 2.0” is beginning to emerge. In our report, we consider the state of credit quality beyond carbon, i.e. how carbon projects deliver benefits to their communities and the environment. For the project types listed below, more than 50% of the individual projects rated by Calyx Global have been found to contribute to the corresponding SDGs. Forest-based projects and cookstove projects are well-known to contribute to benefits beyond carbon. Less “charismatic” project types, like biodigesters and manure management, also frequently claim several SDG contributions. What a great recognition! For the second time in a row, we’ve been acknowledged as one of the Climate Leaders in Europe by Financial Times. I am really proud of Colleagues, Partners and Customers, in the forefront of this industrial evolution! The list recognizes European companies that are leading the way in emissions reduction as well as transparency and commitment to global climate-related initiatives. Under the EU’s Green Deal, which aims to make Europe “the first climate-neutral continent” by 2050, companies must contend tougher sustainability targets.
