Happy 20th Anniversary to Alex (Alejandro) Martinez! Alex began his career at Accord in the Chicago 940 building as a Finishing Operator, thanks to a referral from his brother who also worked at the company. He recalls that when he started, his department had only seven people, which required him to learn and master everything in his role. We asked him a few questions about his time with Accord Carton. Q. What do you like the most about your job? A. I love what I do and like to think about how my co-workers and I can do a better job. Q. What has kept you at Accord for so long? A. Opportunities to grow. Q. What are you the proudest of at work? A. Working with the team. Q. What superpower would you like to have if you could choose one? A. Help my fellow coworkers figure ways to do things the best.

Driving Brand Reputation and Stakeholder Engagement Communications | Reputation Management | Brand Strategy | Marketing & Research
Today marks my 13th Anniversary as a member of The Brydens Group. I feel privileged to have had the chance to collaborate with influential individuals who have enabled me to forge a fulfilling path while contributing value to the organization. Reflecting on my journey, if you had asked me at the outset if I envisioned myself in my current role, I would likely have answered affirmatively. I have always been driven and recognized the unique skillset I possess and how it can effectively be utilized. My philosophy includes volunteering my talents where I believe they can make a difference, regardless of personal gain. This approach has not only opened doors to unforeseen opportunities but also allowed me to display abilities beyond my designated responsibilities. At Brydens, I have transitioned from Brand Manager to Business Development Manager and now Group Corporate Affairs Manager—a career trajectory that aligns perfectly with my aspirations. Each role has been a learning experience, allowing me to refine my skills and maintain a perpetual sense of excitement. Ultimately, it boils down to comprehending your value. In essence, if you view yourself as a brand, what principles do you stand for? My journey highlights the significance of hard work, belief, and being a bit of a dreamer. Defining your identity and ensuring that you consistently deliver on it is paramount. As I celebrate 13 years with Brydens with great enthusiasm, I hope, in your journey, you too have a narrative of growth and self-discovery, where you have carved out opportunities by recognizing your inherent value. 2 weeks ago I celebrated my 8th anniversary at Anyline Here are some learning for everyone, who isn't sure if he/she/they is qualified enough for a job or company. My journey so far was quite a roller coaster. From a team of 15 to team of 100, from internship to leading a team. There will be never an easy, linear way within your career - but exactly this makes it exciting. These are my learnings so far from my 8 years journey: 11.2015 Internship Design & Marketing It took me 3 weeks to apply for this internship, because I didn't know anything about OCR, SDK, or the software business overall and wasn't sure if I fit. Learning: If you don’t try, you will never now. 02.2016 Product Designer After 3 months of internship, the team saw my potential and hired me. It didn’t matter that I didn’t know about our products when I started, but it did matter that I was highly motivated to learn about it and contribute to the companies success. Learning: A really good leader sees your potential and supports it. 01.2017 Brand Manager My passion was always in branding and creating awareness. With the culture we have at Anyline I talked to my team lead and I got the possibility to develop myself further. Learning: There will be no change, if you don’t speak up for yourself. 01.2019 Senior Brand Manager I started to have a small team of designers and event managers and started to do less design by myself, as I realised my strengths are within other areas. Learning: Accept your strengths & weakness. 03.2020 VP of Branding Strategy My contribution was recognised and I got a promotion to VP of Branding Strategy Learning: Resilience and loyalty will pay off (most of the time) 05.2021 VP of Strategic Partnership Due to some restructuring a new opportunity was offered to me and I decided to develop in a different direction, by leading our strategic partnerships. In this 12 months I learned so many new things, that I was a bit scared about: like working on 100 pages of legal contracts Learning: Try new things - the time is never lost as you gain new experience. 07.2022 Head of Awareness Marketing After 1 year within a new area, I realised my heart still beats for branding and creating awareness. And thankfully there was another door opening within Anyline for my next step. Learning (all of the above) - My team lead saw my strength & potential - I spoke up for myself & addressed my need - I gained new experience, which helps me in my new role - I accepted that my strengths lies within branding & awareness If you are wondering, what I'm exactly doing today, you can watch my 60 seconds video
Last week, we celebrated her 8-year Anyline anniversary. And like our company, her role and contributions to our goals have continued to evolve. This is what our own Sophie Kreuzer gets up to in a day, featured in this week's "My Job in 60 Seconds". Enjoy and join us in celebrating 8 amazing years!

As I approach my one-year anniversary at NewGen IT Technologies Pvt Ltd, formerly VCARE InfoTech Solutions and Services Pvt Ltd, I find myself reflecting deeply. It’s disheartening to see some former colleagues, who were once part of our company, now spreading unfounded rumors after leaving a few months ago. They should recognize that our company provided them ample opportunities for growth, both monetarily and in terms of promotion, opportunities they did not receive in their previous workplaces. There's a saying that resonates deeply with this situation: "People often criticize what they once cherished." It’s clear to me now why this occurs, but it prompts me to question: What do they gain by damaging their own integrity? They left the company under the influence of a former employee who was dismissed by management for poor performance, unethical behavior, and causing significant financial losses to the company. So why propagate such false feedback about a company that once belonged to them as well? Their behavior is truly questionable. If there are genuine concerns, why resort to hiding behind fake identities (including the company's name and their own) to voice them? Valid grievances deserve transparent discussion. Instead of diminishing their credibility, they should pinpoint where improvements are needed and seek resolution openly. Leaving a company should signify personal growth and encourage the same for others. Let’s foster constructive dialogue and leave groundless accusations behind.

CEO & Founder Silver Talkies | Co-Author of Rethink Ageing (Penguin India) | Winner of Visa Inc's She's Next grant | Goldman Sachs 10K program NSRCEL IIM Bangalore
Some dates are always special such as today, the date when we launched Silver Talkies Club six years ago in 2018, based on the inputs from attendees of our events. They wanted to meet more often, know their co-participants better and have more fun and engaging opportunities. Hence Silver Talkies Club was born in a time and age when active ageing, loneliness and isolation among older adults were not spoken about or discussed much in our country. I was in fact told by many peers that I was playing in a small niche field. Fast forward to 2024, almost every new player in the senior care space is looking at addressing similar issues with similar models. Did we start too early or did they start too late? I think it is immaterial for as they say that all's well that ends well. What is most heartening for me is to note that in the pic below all the people who became members in 2018 are still members in 2024, with the exception of one member whom we lost a few months ago. Six years of relationship still doing strong! So we must be doing something right:) Cheers to healthy ageing! #olderadults #activeageing #seniorcare #healthyageing #anniversary
Six incredible years have flown by, and today we're celebrating a remarkable milestone - Happy 6th Anniversary to the Silver Talkies Family! A heartfelt shoutout to each and every one of our amazing members who've been with us since day one, your support and enthusiasm have been the driving force behind our journey. While we celebrate our triumphs, we also remember our dear friend and pioneer member, Arun Bhatia, whose spirit continues to inspire us every day. And a special mention to Akila Krishnakumar, our beacon of wisdom and guidance, thank you for being our mentor and advisor throughout this incredible journey. Here's to many more years of laughter, learning, and cherished memories together!

This month, I’m celebrating my 2nd anniversary at Miviso. How did I feel when starting this new journey? Well, at the beginning, I felt scared and lost. 😱 (Of course, they didn't know about this.) 😀😉 I knew how to overcome challenges and difficult situations, but would I be as effective in a new industry, working with different people, and adjusting to a new team and clients? After two years, I'm excited to share what's been helping me along the way: ✔️𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 Stay curious, ask questions, and be willing to admit that you don't know everything. No one comes fully prepared, even in senior roles. ✔️𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 Share your thoughts, plans, and challenges openly. This ensures timely help, not just during adaptation but always. ✔️𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐬 Don't sacrifice what's important to you for a good first impression. Think long-term. ✔️𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 I believe in the power of sharing knowledge to create an environment where everyone can learn and excel. ✔️𝐒𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐬 Prioritize collective success over individual glory. It's "we", not "I" that drives workplace achievements. ✔️𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭 Be honest, reliable, and respectful to make everyone feel valued. Don't forget to collaborate on an equal footing. ✔️𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 Provide support and guidance, enable colleagues to reach their full potential, and please, don't cut their wings. ✔️𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 Offer constructive and actionable feedback. Praise what went well and offer suggestions for improvement. ✔️𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 Be responsible for your actions, especially when things go wrong. Learn from mistakes and demonstrate integrity and accountability. ✔️𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 (𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦) 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 Acknowledge hard work and dedication, and celebrate achievements, big or small.

Today is my 1-year work anniversary with Hudson Technology Systems. If you check my job history, I rarely stay at one job, one position for more than a year. Even before I was in tech, I was a serial job hopper. Before tech, it was a function of boredom/annoyance, and since making the transition to tech, it has been a function of curiosity/opportunity (read: ability to both grow income and skillset). At this job with Hudson, I feel like I've got everything. We move fast, we work on interesting problems, the challenges are continuous. We take full ownership of the results, which we are at best rewarded for or at worst learn from. I'm allowed to be myself, and on top of that, my attitude toward programming and people doesn't cause negative conflict, but positive conflict that pushes us forward. Everyone on the team wants to be an S-tier player, do things the right way, and be the best they can be. Igor Ulis and my team members make it 100% worthwhile to keep working here, and I have a lot of gratitude toward them. I believe I'll be working with this team and these people for a long while. But, perhaps controversially, I would still encourage those who are not satisfied with their situation to continue job hopping and seeking projects at the edge of your ability. If you hop for the right reasons, you will make gains that help you become a stronger contributor, until you're fortunate enough to end up right where you should be. Better and better.
