"Creating a new role requires the redesign of the way that multidisciplinary teams work together. The starting point for this workforce design should be the optimal clinical pathways, rather than what is being done today. That means setting out the clinical red lines (what can only be done by a registered healthcare professional), looking at the skills and roles needed, and the most efficient use of capacity." Supporting this design and the people who have to make it work are the systems that underpin the health service. Platforms like CAREFUL that enable clinicians to collaborate and leaders to monitor, measure and manage. #digitalhealth #digitalhealthcare #patientsafety

Influential Healthcare Executive with a Proven Track Record in Creating Centers of Excellence where Caregivers Thrive!
Attention healthcare professionals: The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a significant number of registered nurses leaving the workforce due to stress, burnout, and retirement. In the past two years, over 100,000 nurses have exited the healthcare industry, with an additional 610,388 reporting their intent to leave in the next decade. Not only that, but the average age of RNs is over 50, contributing to a projected shortage of over 1 million nurses in the healthcare industry. It is crucial that we address this issue to ensure adequate staffing and quality care for patients. #healthcare #nursing #staffingshortage #COVID19

Did your hospital make the list of best hospitals to work for state by state? "Forbes' fifth annual list of America's Best Employers By State contains a number of health systems and acute-care hospitals, with more than a dozen recognized in Illinois, Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania." Based on a survey. The list for Pennsylvania includes 13 hospitals. But none of our locals made it. The article lists the evaluation criteria for ranking. Congrats to those that made it and also to those that did not. Sometimes we give credit also for effort and not only for the outcomes. Depending. And maintaining or advancing their ranks in the system requires hard work. Now press releases will feature this ranking. like "best Hospital to work for...." I think that the benefits are ultimately for the patients and their families. The quality of care they experience.. #personcenteredcare. #healthcare #familycaregivers #peoplefirst

The financial landscape of health care in America is uncertain. That leaves too much uncertainty for patients. But Atrium Health, now part of Advocate Health, is rethinking – and reshaping – that landscape, to provide better care for more people. “We know that by coming together, we are stronger and better able to weather the headwinds that the entire health care sector is facing,” Advocate Health Southeast Region President Kenneth Haynes told the Atrium Health Board of Commissioners at its final meeting of 2023. That means more nurses, better technology and more locations to serve more people across greater Charlotte and beyond – all while providing an award-winning place to work for its 150,000 teammates.
