When I was growing up, our veranda was a place for fun and bonding with friends and family. Mornings started with the aroma of fresh coffee and newspaper chatter. Afternoons saw schoolbooks spread out on the cool floor, while evenings brought neighbours together for casual banter. But today, urbanization has squeezed out this vital threshold. With apartments and gated communities dominating skylines, verandas have been replaced by private balconies or forgotten altogether.
