CME has commissioned an independent report on WA’s Strategic Industrial Areas (SIAs) to assess their project readiness and competitiveness on a global stage. The report produced by Australian Venture Consultants highlights the difference between the WA's SIAs and the significant incentives industrial parks offered in Asia-Pacific and North America. The report underscores the need for further investment to ensure WA’s SIAs attract new project investment and support WA’s diversification and industrial development ambitions. CME CEO Rebecca Tomkinson said CME and its members are keen to work with the state and federal governments to help prioritise investment in WA’s SIAs, so they are effective in attracting investment and jobs. I sat down with Laurits Harmer Lassen from Industriens Pension to discuss new three-year, multibillion value-add infrastructure and private equity programs set to be launched at the end of 2024. Danish labour market scheme remains focused on small and mid-cap buyouts and early-stage venture in the stable US and European markets. Infrastructure, however, is a different story for Industriens that sees a larger climate effect per invested crown in emerging markets like Latam and Apac. And while the renewables, transportation and digital asset realms have no shortage of interesting projects, investing in these regions can be a challenge, explains Lassen.
