On June 19, Tata Motors announced that it would increase the price of its commercial vehicles by 2% from July 1, 2024. Tata Motors said in a filing that the price increase is to offset the impact of rising commodity prices. The company said the price increase will apply to all commercial vehicles, and the specific price increase will vary depending on the specific model. This is the third time Tata Motors has increased the price of its commercial vehicles this year. The company first increased the price of its commercial vehicles by 3% on January 1, and then increased the price of commercial vehicles by 2% on April 1. On March 4 this year, in order to further enhance the synergy between various businesses and adapt to changes in the future market environment, Tata Motors announced plans to split its business into two independent listed entities. One will focus on the commercial vehicle business and its related investments, and the other will cover the passenger vehicle business, including the electric vehicle division, the JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) brand and its related investments. Tata Motors claimed in a press release that by combining inspiration from the most advanced art design and R&D centers in multiple countries including India, the UK, the US, Italy and South Korea, Tata Motors is committed to launching new products that inspire the imagination of young (GenNext) consumers. Tata Motors added that the company not only focuses on the appearance design of the product, but also attaches importance to engineering and technical support to provide automotive solutions that meet future mobility needs. Through continuous innovation and R&D, the company is striving to create products that are both sustainable and in line with market needs. #Tata #vehicles #innovation

Parts proliferation: It’s going to get worse! That’s probably a terrible tagline. And it’s also not really breaking news. But it’s not just going to get worse because of the wide variety and ages of vehicles out there — electric vehicles will add to the headache. The growing problem of parts proliferation exacerbated by the introduction and growth of electric vehicles was our top read of the week last week: https://lnkd.in/gpwgy9P4 This isn’t going to happen right away as there just aren’t enough EVs to make a marked impact now. But as EVs continue to sell — and they sold well through the first quarter of this year — and more models get introduced in the coming years, that just means more vehicle parts for the aftermarket to stock. Jobbers will need to have these items in stock; techs will need to be knowledgeable about them. Not envious times — the knowledge base of techs and counter staff will expand correspondingly with the warehouses of distributors and jobbers. #automotive #automotiveaftermarket #autocare Turnkey Media Solutions

⚡SEG Automotive🛵🚗 the pioneer in motor manufacturing, setting up 400V HV motor line in Hosur, India⚡ 🌟 SEG Automotive, renowned globally as a pioneer in motor manufacturing, is poised to redefine the landscape of the Indian electric vehicle (EV) market. With the unveiling of its cutting-edge 400V high-voltage (HV) motor line in Hosur, Karnataka, SEG Automotive is set to spearhead a new era of innovation and localization in the realm of electric mobility within India. 🛵 The Indian market has witnessed a remarkable surge in the adoption of light electric mobility, particularly in the segment of e-two- and three-wheelers. This surge underscores a growing demand for localized components that can meet the specific needs of Indian consumers while aligning with the country's evolving regulatory framework and infrastructure. 🔧 SEG Automotive's commitment to meeting this demand is evident in its impressive track record of localization. With over 90% localization achieved(excluding PCB & magnets) in its 48V motor for two-wheelers, SEG Automotive has demonstrated its dedication to tailoring its products to the unique requirements of the Indian market. This localization not only enhances the affordability and accessibility of EVs but also strengthens India's position as a hub for electric mobility innovation. 🌱 Building on its success in Europe, where it is the largest producer of mild-hybrid e-drives, SEG Automotive plans to introduce this advanced technology to India alongside the launch of its 400V motor line in Hosur. This move not only underscores SEG Automotive's commitment to technological excellence but also highlights its confidence in the potential of the Indian market to embrace cutting-edge EV solutions. 🛑 Despite these strides, challenges remain on the horizon. Cheaper imports from China continue to pose a significant barrier to the market penetration of locally manufactured components. Furthermore, there exists a gap in awareness regarding functional safety and cybersecurity standards for EV components, particularly when compared to Western markets. 🔍 Recognizing the importance of addressing these challenges, SEG Automotive emphasizes the significance of rigorous systems engineering and safety management practices. By prioritizing quality, reliability, and safety, SEG Automotive aims to not only compete in the Indian market but also to set new benchmarks for excellence in electric mobility. #SEGAutomotive #electricvehicles #EVRevolution #InnovationInIndia #SustainableMobility #sustainability 🚗🔋 EV Mechanica SEG Automotive Ferdinando Sorrentino anil kumar Natarajan S Raghavendra L Tobias A. #Weekend Special: Highlights of the Week - An EV Technology Research and Collaboration Lab (E-TRAC Lab) was inaugurated at National Institute of Technology Calicut on Friday. The lab, a joint venture between the Centre for Electric Vehicle Engineering (CEVE) at NIT Calicut and Tata Elxsi Pvt Ltd, aims to advance electric vehicle research and innovation. Additionally, NITC also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Keltron Pvt Ltd to further collaborative efforts in electric vehicle-related research. CEVE, which oversees six projects worth ₹2.3 Crore, is dedicated to promoting awareness and training in electric vehicle technology. - Despite reduced subsidies and stricter norms, the Indian government remains optimistic about achieving EV sales targets set under the Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme, 2024. Over 265,000 electric two-wheelers and 176,000 electric three-wheelers were sold in fiscal 2024-25, with most two-wheelers expected to qualify for #EMPS subsidies. The scheme aims to subsidize 372,000 electric vehicles, with automakers like Hero MotoCorp and Ola Electric already approved. EMPS replaces the #FAME scheme and anticipates a new initiative in the upcoming Union Budget to further boost EV sales from August 1, 2024. -Tata Motors has officially unveiled the production-spec Tata #Curvv EV, set to debut globally on August 7. The electric SUV features a split headlight design, an enclosed nose, and robust blacked-out wheel arches. While specific battery and power specifications remain undisclosed, it is expected to offer a range of around 500 km, positioning it as a premium EV coupe SUV. - JSW MG Motor AE India has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first OEM in #India to earn 40% of its sales from EV. Their diversified EV portfolio, including the #Comet and #ZS EV, contributed to this achievement. - The Indian #automotive industry aims to achieve 30% EV adoption by 2030. To meet this target, it requires up to 2 lakh skilled people, with a total talent investment of Rs 13,552 crore for hiring and training the workforce. According to the 'Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) Manufacturers EV Skill Gap Study' report in order to achieve 100 per cent localisation of EV components, India needs to add 30,000 EV-ready workers per year till 2030, up from a current rate of 15,000 per year. - Statiq, India’s leading #electricvehicle charging network, has teamed up with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to accelerate EV adoption in India. The collaboration integrates BPCL’s existing ~2800 chargers into Statiq’s network. #linkedin #news #sustainability
