🌊 The Department of the Interior has approved the Atlantic Shores South Wind project, located approximately 8.7 miles from the New Jersey shoreline at its closest point. ⚡This is the ninth approval of a commercial-scale, offshore wind energy project in the United States.   • The Department of the Interior just announced their Record of Decision on the Atlantic Shores South Wind project. The Department of the Interior has approved the Atlantic Shores South Wind project, located offshore New Jersey. 
 
The approved project has an estimated capacity of 2.8 GW of renewable energy, to power over 1 million homes. This is the 9th major offshore wind project approved by the Department, which is a significant stride towards fulfilling our nation’s clean energy objectives.
