LAUNCH LESSONS: THIS PRE-LAUNCH CONTENT IS A CONSOLIDATION OF 3 EMAILS As promised in Monday’s post, here’s our pivot from 3 PLC emails to a single ‘long’ email. Remember that the primary objectives of Pre-Launch Content are to: - Build confidence in the ability of Mentored Mastermind Groups to help employees create new income sources and eliminate their concerns. - Generate anticipation for the official launch which will take place during the week of February 3rd. - The content started with the 3 emails, each having been initially prepared by me, then reviewed by 2 generative AIs. The consolidated version was simple to put together. It was then reviewed by a single AI ‘Launchy’, trained on Jeff Walker’s Product Launch Formula, which made negligible changes. We've talked about needing to edit what generative AIs do. While Launchy made negligible edits, it did leave out a key paragraph. When I asked why, it apologized and put it back in! The email makes this post too long. It will have to go in a separate post.

Let's keep going! We're on to step 4 of 5 on how to create a knowledge management process that fuels your AI: 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁, 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁, 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁! 🕵📑 𝘽𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙 𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙛𝙡𝙤𝙬. Knowledge management is a process. It doesn’t end once you’ve published a certain number of help articles. As your product, customers, and business goals evolve, so too should your help content. This means you need to build maintaining, updating, and creating new content into your team’s workflow on an ongoing basis – not just in the mad rush before a new feature gets launched. Map out a plan for updating your content that outlines: - Who is responsible for refreshing or creating new content. - How often existing content should be reviewed so it doesn’t become stale. - When they should do this (i.e. for one hour per day, every Friday, monthly, or whatever cadence makes sense for your team). 𝘿𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙥 𝙖 𝙨𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙢 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙤𝙜 𝙧𝙚𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙩. Encourage the cultural shift to a “knowledge management” mindset by making it easy for everyone to share ideas for new or improved help content. Create a simple system for team members to log content requests, so you can capture insights from all customer-facing and product teams – and address customer needs from every angle. 𝙐𝙥𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩. It might go without saying... but let's say it anyway: ensure you update your materials as the product evolves. Stay close to your product and marketing teams on this, build it into the GTM (go-to-market) plan for any new updates, big and small. Find ways of working to nip out of date content in the bud early and often. I've been to three cities in the last two weeks (Charlotte, NY, DC) to talk with Docebo's customers about how they're feeling about #artificialintelligence, #instructionaldesign and #AIED. Next week, I'll be with the team in Seattle and San Fran. Here are some high level trends popping up again and again in our stops so far. 1️⃣ ⏳ You all feel behind, yet none of you are. Trust me, I talk to customers & leaders in L&D every week. Effective implementation of AI is going to be a marathon, not a sprint. Pace yourself and continue educating yourself in a smart, meaningful way that avoids the sales hype, but instead builds actual competency. 2️⃣ 📊 90% of you have built multiple choice questions (MCQs) in the last month, while simultaneously being frustrated with how limiting it is as an assessment type. AI can add a TON of detail and interaction data to this, but not with SCORM. xAPI will be the future of learning analytics in L&D, but there is a TON of talent and skill development required to get there. 3️⃣ 🙃 Many of you have tried the current generation of #LLM-based content creation tools for L&D and have been hilariously underwhelmed. These tend to do better on 'soft-skills' training on general topics, like leadership and interpersonal stuff. Unfortunately, you're already sorted on those, which makes the impact of LLM content creation tools pretty minimal. 🎉 Excited to share that I have officially completed the eCornell Growth Marketing Program! 🎉 A huge thank you to Wiley, Anna Reeves, and Cindy Vallée for their unwavering support in my lifelong learning journey. This program has been an incredible experience, and I am thrilled to apply the knowledge I've gained to support Wiley's AI products and services. Throughout the four-month course, I had the opportunity to delve into various aspects of Growth Marketing: 1. Growth Marketing With AI: I learned to identify products that could benefit from growth marketing, set goals, enhance the 4Ps of marketing, and apply AI to growth marketing strategies. 2. Assessing Opportunities in Paid Digital Media: I explored strategies for primary paid media channels, assessed their relevance to customer needs, and drafted a marketing plan for paid media. 3. Assessing Opportunities in Owned Digital Media: I examined strategies for owned media channels, assessed their relevance, and created a marketing plan for owned media. 4. Marketing Automation and AI: I designed a performance marketing strategy, identified AI opportunities to augment marketing processes, and learned to safeguard customer privacy. What sets this program apart is the AI strategies I've gained, which are not typically covered in Product Marketing courses I typically take. Additionally, the ability to network and collaborate with other Wiley employees taking this course has been invaluable. Looking forward to leveraging these new skills and insights in my role.
