Our new Eurofound report written with my colleague Jorge Cabrita is out today. Our research investigated procedural justice in green just transitions.  Governments need to engage with social partners, the civil society, industry, regional and local authorities and communities to ensure a common approach towards addressing potential adverse socioecenomic effects of the decarbonisation process. It is important that a partnership approach is employed and all stakeholders share a vision as to how the regions create a new sustainable model away from fossil fuels while protecting vulnerable groups. Meaningful dialogue with social partners can deal with issues related to new jobs for workers whose jobs are at risk, retraining for new skills, etc. Supports to SMEs need to take into account the views of the industries.  https://lnkd.in/eViGTt3B

The E3 Collaborative supports 1,444 jobs and generates over $40 million in tax revenues, contributing $145.2 million to San Diego’s GRP in 2023! There are many of us currently working in the field of environmental/social sustainability in Hungary, but the explosive impact is difficult to grasp. Resources are scarce, their distribution is fragmented among the actors, and most of them build individually, as small communities, straining their strength. It is difficult for service providers to make a living alongside social work. By building along common causes, not everyone should have to follow the same path, and the loss of purpose that is often caused by chasing investments can be avoided. The community gives legitimacy to additional partners and investors, and by managing it wisely, every new member can give something back to the common. Existing actors need to be able to stand up and work as a broader community along our common causes, and although there are different ideas about this, the need is common. The aim of the Platform Cooperative project is to provide a framework for modeling and projecting the organization of platforms supporting social value creation based on joint activities. In addition to sharing knowledge and mapping common areas of activity, the primary part of the plan is to model and lay down a framework for long-term collaboration between the organizations and individuals involved in a way that will allow for the involvement of additional members in the future. In the first phase of the project, we would like to discuss the following questions together: 1. How do we imagine a social collaboration platform that we all feel is common? What frameworks do we consider appropriate for this purpose? 2. How can a platform that collects common resources support us? How can we contribute to this? What can we agree on and compete on? 3. How can we jointly organize and make decisions about the platform? Since the goal is to build the platform together, all participants are entitled to openly access and contribute to all results, as they shape its value themselves. The results will be published in scientific and other publications that support open sharing and increase the visibility of the project and the participants. As the project continues, the participants can determine the next steps and any further construction is the subject of joint decisions.
