In August, the Communal Enterprise “Elektroavtotrans” of Ivano-Frankivsk City Council signed a contract for the purchase of trolleybuses, which feature an impressive autonomous range of no less than 15 kilometers. The Lviv-based company Electronmash won the tender.🏆 👉🏻 This activity is part of the European Investment Bank (EIB)-funded Ukraine Urban Public Transport Project (#UUPTP), which aims to facilitate the restructuring and modernization of Ukraine's urban public transport sector, bringing it closer to #EU operating standards and policies.   The overall objectives of Egis experts under the UUPT project include: ▫️ Supporting the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine in developing, implementing, and monitoring rolling stock procurement projects for participating cities. ▫️ Assisting city councils and municipal transport enterprises with policy and implementation issues.   The cities benefiting from this public transport renewal initiative are Kyiv 🚌🚋🚠, Sumy 🚍, Lutsk 🚍, Odesa 🚋, Kharkiv 🚍🚇, Lviv 🚋🚌🔧, Ivano-Frankivsk 🚍, Zaporizhzhia 🚎🚍, Ternopil 🚌, and Mykolayiv 🚌.   Egis is proud to advance Ukraine's transport infrastructure with support from the European Investment Bank (EIB). 🏗️🇺🇦[Ukraine reconstruction] At the beginning of August, Egis in Ukraine, Caucasus & Central Asia team conducted a working visit to the Chernihiv region as part of a newly signed project. This initiative, funded by Expertise France, involves the execution of four critical tasks: 🔹 Creation of an air-raid shelter at the Chernihiv Regional Pediatric Hospital 🔹 Creation of an air-raid shelter at the Chernihiv Regional Psycho-Neurological Hospital 🔹 Creation of a water borehole for the Chernihiv Regional Psycho-Neurological Hospital 🔹 Rehabilitation of the surgical department at Ichnia General Hospital Egis contributes by preparing design and tender documents, supporting the tender process, ensuring compliance during contractor selection, and providing technical and architectural supervision throughout construction. 👷🏼♀️👷🏼♂️ 🫱🏼🫲🏻 Together, we're working to enhance safety and healthcare infrastructure in the Chernihiv region!

👏🏼🚃 On July 31, a significant success was achieved in the Ukraine Public Transport Framework II project “Modernization of Public Trolleybus Transport”, in which Egis is engaged as a Consultant. The communal enterprise "Electrotrans" signed an important contract with Chernihiv Automobile Plant LLC and Politekhservice LLC for the purchase of 42 low-floor trolleybuses, including the supply of spare parts and diagnostic equipment. The first batch of 5 trolleybuses will be delivered 8 months after receiving the advance payment, and all deliveries are scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2025. 👷🏼♂️ As the Project Consultant, Egis oversees procurement and implementation, ensuring compliance with the Bank's procedures and the EBRD Loan Agreement. Our team also supports training and transfer of expertise to the project implementation unit, tendering and evaluation, contract administration, and environmental and social aspects of the project. This project is essential for modernizing the outdated trolleybus fleet, improving service efficiency, reliability and air quality by reducing carbon dioxide emissions. 🌍 It also improves access to safe and reliable public transportation for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and other vulnerable groups. 🏦 The project is funded by the EU's Neighborhood Investment Platform and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). 🌍♻️ On July 30, 2024, an agreement has been signed for the reclamation of Khmelnytskyi’s landfill and the construction of new waste storage facilities—a major advancement in the “Modernization of Solid Waste Infrastructure” project, funded by the EBRD. As consultants Egis team provided crucial support to project's implementer, the Communal Enterprise “Spetskomuntrans” and Smart Environment Khmelnytskyi throughout the procurement process, from tender preparation to contract signing, and will continue with ongoing technical supervision. Project's mission is to help the city build an integrated, sustainable waste management system in line with the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement. 🌱🚧 🗣️ “The signing of this agreement marks a pivotal step forward in addressing the pressing environmental challenges faced by Khmelnytskyi. Our team at Egis is proud to contribute our expertise to ensure that the landfill reclamation and new waste storage facilities are developed to the highest international standards. This prestigious event brings together leading voices from around the world to address one of the most critical challenges of our time - climate change. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (#IPCC) is a United Nations body that assesses climate change science. In a recent meeting, delegates from 195 member governments discussed the seventh assessment cycle, focusing on strategic planning and outline for key reports, including the Special Report on Climate Change and Cities and the Methodology Report on Short-Lived Climate Forcers. 🌱📊 #Egis is honored to have one of our key experts, Svitlana Krakovska, contribute her expertise and collaborate with international stakeholders to create a more sustainable future.

🚧🌿 In collaboration with Expertise France, Egis is excited to be involved in the "Support to Chernihiv’s Region for Reconstruction & Decentralization" RELEVE project. As part of this initiative, we are developing key strategic plans to enhance local infrastructure and sustainability: 🚦 Local Sustainable Transport and Mobility Plans for Ichnia and Nova Basan hromadas. These plans will define the transportation policy for the coming years, aiming to improve movement and accessibility, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for residents. ♻️ Local Waste Management Plans (LWMP) for Pryluky and Oster hromadas. These plans include training for local officials, waste management companies, and citizens, aligning with the new Ukrainian Law "On Waste Management." LWMPs are essential for sustainable waste management, with a 10-year horizon in line with the Oblast waste management plan. In response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, France has committed to supporting Chernihiv’s recovery through the mAIDan program. Funded by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Ministère des Affaires étrangères français) and coordinated by the French Special Envoy for Ukraine Relief and Reconstruction, this initiative aims to bolster resilience and recovery efforts in the region and the path to Euro-integration.
