WHO launches new network for advancing data and digital solutions for health WHO/Europe has launched the Strategic Partners' Initiative for Data and Digital Health, a collaboration network that brings together the 53 Member States of the WHO European Region and leading partners in the fields of data and digital health. Despite the promising potential of data and digital solutions for health, countries in the Region still experience challenges with financing, implementing and governing the digital transformation of their health systems. The work of the SPI-DDH will be driven by Member States' priorities and informed by the latest scientific research and evidence-based practices, aligning with WHO's Global Strategy on Digital Health 2020-2025 and the Regional Digital Health Action Plan for the WHO European Region 2023-2030. https://lnkd.in/eyFHZXKb #PublicHealth #Europe #StayInformed #StayEmpowered

The World Health Organization is launching the Global Initiative for Digital Health next week -- a "network of networks" to advance national digital transformation. 120 (out of 194) WHO member countries have launched a national #digitalhealth policy or strategy however product-focused implementation, duplication of efforts, and fragmented resources have led to a digital divide and limited effectiveness. Proposed 5 year outputs: 1. Country needs for technical support are systematically captured and made accessible to development partners through a standardized Country Needs Portal. 2. A platform to announce and identify resources and gaps in financial and in-kind commitments in digital health is available to countries, development partners and technical partners. 3. Countries have timely access to routinely updated tools to measure maturity of the enabling environment for digital health, track digital health initiatives, guide the development and updating of digital health related strategies and policies, and identifying quality-assured digital solutions. 4. Continuous cross-network knowledge exchange between existing global, regional, and national communities of practice, coalitions and more is institutionalized within the WHO Link to launch and executive summary in comments.
